Land Reclamation at Casey Our Land Reclamation and Civils division plays a vital role in shaping safer, more accessible, and sustainable environments. The team delivers civil engineering, infrastructure, and environmental improvement schemes for local authorities, housing providers, and national bodies, supporting regeneration‑led projects across public realm, highways, parks, heritage spaces, and wider environmental improvements. Known for operating successfully in live and constrained environments, the Land Reclamation team combines strong technical expertise with collaboration and problem‑solving to deliver practical, safe, and long‑lasting solutions. No two projects are the same, making the work both varied and rewarding, while always aligned with our core purpose of Improving Lives. Who are we looking for? We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering projects. This includes schemes such as town-centre highway improvements (junction re-constructions, cycle ways, pathways etc.), urban landscaping and public realm improvements, Heritage Lottery-funded Park restorations, and the enhancement of parks and gardens. As Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion. You’ll be responsible for programming and planning works, managing budgets and resources, leading site teams, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. A key part of your role will be liaising with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 7 in Civil Engineering, and bring a strong technical and construction background, along with commercial and contractual awareness. You’ll be confident in leading, supporting, and motivating site teams, with excellent people management and communication skills. Well-organised and proactive in forward planning, you’ll be able to anticipate potential issues and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track. Strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and a common-sense approach to operational challenges are essential. Above all, you’ll take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes while maintaining a professional image and prioritising customer satisfaction. The Detail Management & Delivery - Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards. - Support business plans, produce reports, and conduct regular site visits. - Oversee resource use, client relations, and team performance. - Manage the full construction process from pre-construction to completion. Health & Safety - Develop and enforce Health & Safety plans, ensuring compliance and best practices. - Conduct audits, analyse trends, and support continuous improvement. Planning & Pre-Contract - Convert tender programmes into construction schedules and monitor progress. - Oversee consultant and supply chain appointments, supporting bid processes. Staffing - Build, develop, and retain a skilled team, addressing performance and recruitment needs. Commercial Awareness - Control financial aspects, monitor costs, and drive value engineering and efficiency.
