Contracts Manager – Construction

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with strong expertise in FIDIC contracts and UAE/Dubai construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for contract review, negotiation, risk management, claims and counterclaims, variations, payments, guarantees, final settlement, and contractual disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction contracts at the pre-award stage and identify contractual and commercial risks.
• Manage and apply FIDIC Red Book, Yellow Book, and Silver Book conditions.
• Negotiate and manage main contracts and subcontract agreements.
• Establish and maintain the contract risk register.
• Manage variations, claims, and counterclaims.
• Manage payment, retention, guarantees, and final settlement matters.
• Handle contractual disputes during project execution.
• Monitor contractual risks and protect the company's contractual interests.
• Prepare and manage contractual correspondence and documentation.
• Support effective commercial and contractual negotiations with project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Dubai .
• Strong practical knowledge of FIDIC Red, Yellow, and Silver Books .
• Strong experience in contract risk identification and management.
• Hands-on experience with claims and counterclaims .
• Strong commercial negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Fluent English , with the ability to use English for contract negotiations and formal correspondence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software .
• FIDIC certification or an international engineering contract management qualification is preferred.
• Arabic language is an advantage.
• Candidates already holding a valid UAE/Dubai work residence visa and available to join quickly are preferred.
• Experience with Chinese construction companies operating in the Middle East is preferred.
