The Content Operations & Media Coordinator plays a critical role in preparing, managing, and distributing media content across broadcast and digital platforms. This position serves as the technical bridge between content acquisition and final distribution, ensuring that all media assets meet NETA's technical, editorial, and operational standards. Responsibilities include performing technical quality control of video and audio assets, making minor editorial and technical corrections using Adobe Premiere Pro, preparing caption files, managing metadata, coordinating media delivery with producers and distribution partners, and maintaining accurate program records across multiple content management systems. The position also supports digital distribution to streaming platforms, manages promotional assets, and collaborates with internal staff and external partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of programming. The ideal candidate combines strong technical media skills with exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced content operations environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES Broadcast & Media Operations Manage the technical preparation of media assets for broadcast distribution. Perform technical quality control (QC) of video files, reviewing picture quality, audio levels, color correction, timing, and overall technical compliance. Perform light post-production editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, including: Correcting audio levels Adjusting video levels and color as needed Trimming content when required Replacing or updating graphics Correcting timing issues Preparing files for final distribution Verify and troubleshoot closed captions to ensure FCC compliance. Coordinate with content providers regarding technical delivery requirements and resolve media issues prior to distribution. Serve as primary liaison with South Carolina ETV (SCETV) for broadcast operations and media delivery. Coordinate media processing priorities and monitor content through the broadcast delivery workflow. Build and maintain program records and media inventory within ProTrack, BroadView, and other operational systems. Maintain accurate program metadata, technical documentation, and asset records. Digital Content & Asset Management Manage media assets for digital distribution platforms, including PBS App and other streaming services. Upload and manage video, captions, promotional graphics, thumbnails, and associated metadata within Media Manager and related systems. Verify metadata accuracy and ensure consistency across all distribution platforms. Coordinate collection and organization of promotional assets from producers. Manage digital file organization, version control, and archive processes. Download, upload, organize, and distribute large media files using cloud-based delivery platforms and media management systems. Assist with digital content availability and troubleshooting. Content Operations Coordinate asset delivery timelines with producers, distributors, and internal staff. Track project status through NETA project management systems. Monitor content through acquisition, technical review, distribution, and archive. Generate monthly Google Analytics and carriage reports. Support program offers, distribution agreements, invoices, and other departmental administrative functions. Cross-train to provide operational support across the Content Department. Industry Relations Represent NETA on industry committees and working groups, including Traffic Advisory Committee, Edisen, PBS SOC, and other national organizations as assigned. Remain current on evolving broadcast standards, digital delivery specifications, FCC requirements, and emerging media technologies. Build collaborative relationships with producers, distributors, public media partners, and technical vendors. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Production, Broadcast Operations, Digital Media, or related field. (An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered). Three to five years of professional experience in media operations, post-production, broadcast operations, digital media, or related field. Experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro. Experience managing digital media assets and metadata. Strong understanding of video codecs, file formats, frame rates, captions, and broadcast/digital delivery specifications. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Experience in public media. Familiarity with PBS distribution systems. Experience with ProTrack or comparable broadcast traffic software. Experience with digital asset management systems. Familiarity with FCC closed captioning requirements. Knowledge of cloud-based media delivery platforms and file transfer systems.
