A co-located university clinical school underpins a strong teaching, training and research culture, and the main campus is currently undergoing a c. $396 million redevelopment , delivering a new multi-storey clinical services building with an expanded ED, additional theatres, extra inpatient capacity, dialysis, imaging, and a dedicated paediatric unit. At a glance Coastal Victorian city, ~3 hours' drive west of Melbourne University town of around 33,000 at the end of the Great Ocean Road Major regional health service undergoing a c. $396 million hospital redevelopment Clinical scope across inpatient, CDAMS , Falls & Balance Clinic , and GEM@Home Package to c. $440,000 p.a. under the Victorian Medical Specialists EA, with the next EA uplift due later this year 5 weeks annual leave, salary packaging (up to $9,010 tax-free) and novated leasing About the location Set on Victoria's rugged south-west coast at the end of the Great Ocean Road, this vibrant regional city sits roughly three hours' drive west of Melbourne and is home to around 33,000 people. It's known for its swimming and surf beaches, the annual return of southern right whales to the nursery at Logans Beach, walking and cycling tracks along a spectacular coastline, and some of Australia's best dairy and produce country in the hinterland. There's a university campus in town, strong primary and secondary schools, established childcare, and a lively café, restaurant and festival scene — all supported by housing costs well below Melbourne's, with a genuine mix of family homes, character properties and coastal lifestyle options. Your opportunity Deliver high-quality Geriatric Medicine across: Inpatient services Cognitive Dementia and Memory Service (CDAMS) Specialist Falls and Balance Clinic GEM@Home program A growing suite of outpatient services There's genuine scope to help shape and expand the outpatient program, contribute to service redesign as the new clinical building comes online, and stay involved in teaching and research through the on-site clinical school. About you Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine, or eligibility for RACP fellowship / SIMG assessment pathway Current or eligible AHPRA specialist registration in Geriatric Medicine Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or eligibility for a suitable visa A collaborative approach and a real interest in service development, teaching and regional practice Confidential enquiries - ania@mediix.com.au
