Our projects include a variety of ground-up construction, renovations, multifamily residential, commercial, and affordable housing projects . The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and trades, monitoring project schedules, maintaining job-site safety, overseeing quality and workmanship, and ensuring construction is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable NYC requirements. This is a hands-on field position requiring someone who can effectively manage the day-to-day activity of an active construction site, anticipate field issues, coordinate multiple trades, and keep projects moving. Please note: This is a construction superintendent position, not a residential building/property maintenance superintendent position. Responsibilities Oversee daily construction activities and job-site operations. Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, and site logistics. Direct and coordinate multiple trades to maintain proper construction sequencing and workflow. Read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and construction drawings and specifications. Monitor project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, and site progress. Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements. Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and workmanship. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site. Enforce OSHA, NYC Department of Buildings, and applicable job-site safety requirements. Conduct and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings. Coordinate site inspections with NYC DOB, inspectors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project management. Maintain accurate daily construction reports, logs, photographs, and other required site documentation. Identify field issues, conflicts, and potential delays and work with the Project Manager to resolve them promptly. Communicate project progress, delays, manpower concerns, and site conditions to the Project Manager. Monitor construction to ensure work is being performed in accordance with approved plans and specifications. Coordinate punch-list work, inspections, corrections, and project closeout. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications 5+ years of construction experience preferred. Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Construction Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, or similar construction field leadership position . NYC construction experience strongly preferred. Experience with one or more of the following preferred: ground-up construction, renovations, multifamily residential, commercial construction, or affordable housing projects . Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and site coordination. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications. Demonstrated experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple construction trades. Working knowledge of OSHA and NYC construction safety requirements. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve field issues while keeping projects on schedule. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with Project Managers and other members of the construction team. Basic computer skills, including email, daily reporting, scheduling, and project documentation. Valid driver's license preferred. Applicable NYC DOB, OSHA, and Site Safety Training (SST) credentials preferred. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather and environmental conditions.
