The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction planning, project controls, contract administration, or a similar engineering role, along with hands-on construction site experience . The candidate should have strong knowledge of project planning, contract administration, progress measurement, scheduling, variations, claims, and project documentation. Construction site experience is mandatory for this position. Key Responsibilities Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules, baseline programs, and project execution plans . Track site activities and assess actual progress against approved project schedules and milestones. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, and project performance reports . Identify delays, critical activities, schedule deviations, and potential impacts on project completion. Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to obtain accurate progress information. Review project contracts, BOQs, drawings, specifications, scope of work, and contractual requirements. Support contract administration throughout the project lifecycle. Review and maintain documentation relating to variations, change orders, claims, extension of time (EOT), and contractual notices . Assist in assessing the time and cost implications of variations and changes to project scope. Monitor subcontractor performance, progress submissions, payment applications, and contractual deliverables. Assist with quantity verification, interim valuations, payment certificates, and commercial assessments . Coordinate with procurement and site teams regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and procurement-related impacts on project timelines. Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources against project requirements. Analyze schedule performance and recommend recovery plans and corrective measures for delayed activities. Maintain accurate records of project correspondence, instructions, approvals, variations, claims, schedules, and progress documentation. Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding planning, progress, contractual matters, and project risks . Support management in identifying potential commercial, contractual, schedule, and execution risks . Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments to resolve planning and contractual issues. Ensure planning and contractual submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related discipline . 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in construction planning, project controls, contract administration, or a related engineering position. Mandatory: Hands-on construction site experience with direct exposure to construction execution and site activities. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations. Practical experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project . Knowledge of FIDIC contracts, variation orders, claims, EOT, delay analysis, and contractual correspondence . Experience with BOQs, quantities, valuations, payment applications, and commercial documentation . Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress measurement, resource planning, and construction reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint . Strong analytical, communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under project deadlines and within a construction-site environment. Oman/GCC construction experience will be an added advantage.
