In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and analyzing construction project costs, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making. Your expertise in financial systems, cost management, and accounting principles will drive project profitability and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects by providing critical financial insights and maintaining rigorous cost control standards. Responsibilities Analyze and monitor construction project budgets, forecasts, and actual costs to ensure alignment with financial goals. Prepare detailed financial reports, including cost analysis, cash flow projections, and variance reports, utilizing advanced Excel data analysis skills. Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project budgets and assist in cost management strategies. Conduct account reconciliation activities such as balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and accounts receivable management using SAP, Xero, or other ERP systems. Support compliance with financial regulations including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Utilize business intelligence tools to interpret financial report data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements. Perform cost accounting analysis within manufacturing or construction environments to optimize resource allocation and project profitability. Assist with financial report writing and data collection efforts for internal audits or external reporting requirements. Manage technical accounting tasks such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, payroll processing, and account analysis. Qualifications Proven experience in financial accounting within the construction or manufacturing industry with strong knowledge of cost accounting analysis. Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, or similar ERP systems. Strong data analysis skills using spreadsheets and business intelligence tools to interpret complex financial data effectively. Familiarity with GAAP standards, SOX compliance requirements, and financial report writing processes. Experience with cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management strategies. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts receivable management, and payroll processing. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to collect data accurately and perform detailed account analysis. Effective communication skills for interpreting financial reports clearly and collaborating across teams.
