Community Manager

UnGroupHampton Wick

WORKTECH Academy is the world's leading membership club and intelligence platform exploring the future of work. We have a roster of global, high-profile member organisations from several sectors who are seeking knowledge, data and insight to inform their workplace strategies.

This is a critical role in the growth and expansion of WORKTECH Academy. We are looking for a bright, driven, social and proactive Community Manager to co-design our membership model and engagement plan, and to bring it to life. You will start engaging with prospective members before they join, helping them understand the value of membership, and build strong relationships with them from their first day through to renewal.

Key to the role is building an engaged member community across our global chapters in London, North America, APAC and wider EMEA, and our sector communities in financial, legal, tech and life sciences. You will also keep our content relevant by feeding member priorities and feedback back to our research and content teams.

You will have a background in customer success, community management, membership management or membership sales, experience working with senior decision-makers, and an interest in technology, architecture, design and the future of work.

If you're keen to join a young, entrepreneurial, highly collaborative company with its finger on the pulse of the latest workplace knowledge, we're the company for you.

Responsibilities

  • Membership model and engagement plan: Drive the Academy membership model and engagement plan, including tailored engagement for Individual, Team and Corporate memberships.
  • Prospects and onboarding: Engage prospective members before they join, helping them see the value of membership, and own the new-member experience so they get the full value of WORKTECH Academy from day one.
  • Community and chapters: Build an active global community across our London, North America, APAC and EMEA chapters and sector communities, working with local leads and nurturing member ambassadors in key markets.
  • Retention and growth: Stay close to members' priorities, spot risks early and support successful renewals. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities and support the team with proposals and pitches.
  • Events: Own the Academy member events programme, virtual and in-person, working with the Marketing and Content teams to make every event relevant and valuable to members.
  • Insight and communications: Feed member needs and feedback to the research and content team, and craft targeted communications that engage members.
  • Industry presence and reporting: Attend industry events to attract new members, maintain accurate CRM records, and report on engagement and community metrics.

Requirements

  • Graduate level or relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years' experience in a community, membership, customer success or business development role
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and WordPress

Skills and characteristics

  • Proactive self-starter, able to work and learn independently
  • Highly organised, outgoing and professional
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confident working with senior leaders
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of member needs
  • Effective time and project management
  • A cool head under pressure
  • A keen interest in technology, design and architecture

What success looks like

Within 12 months, members are more engaged and better connected, renewal rates have improved measurably, and our chapters are active, with members joining events and discussions and acting as advocates for the Academy. You will have put in place the membership model, engagement plan and systems that let this keep growing.
