The successful candidate will work closely with a small, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced team to deliver high-quality client outcomes. Candidates with experience in the natural resource sector, Indigenous and community relations, stakeholder engagement, consultation, or regulatory affairs will be well suited to this position. Our team supports clients in developing and implementing effective engagement strategies that maximize local benefits and build meaningful relationships. Reporting to the Vice President, Advisory Services, the Community Engagement Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of Indigenous and community engagement projects, ensuring successful outcomes for clients while maintaining strong relationships with communities, government, and industry stakeholders. Key Responsibilities The Community Engagement Project Manager is responsible for: Leading the development of client deliverables, including communications materials, research reports, engagement plans, and strategic recommendations. Acting as the primary client contact and trusted advisor for assigned projects, ensuring exceptional client service and responsiveness. Managing project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, resources, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards, client expectations, and contractual requirements. Coordinating and attending meetings between C3 clients, Indigenous communities, industry proponents, and government representatives, including the preparation and distribution of meeting materials and follow-up actions. Maintaining effective communications between project proponents and communities, serving as a key point of contact and maintaining accurate project records. Providing strategic advice regarding Indigenous relations, consultation, regulatory processes, and community engagement strategies within British Columbia’s natural resource sector. Supporting the negotiation, implementation, and management of agreements between Indigenous communities and project proponents, as required. Providing leadership and direction to project team members and coordinating contributions from subject matter experts and consultants. Mentoring junior staff and supporting their professional growth and development. Contributing to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and relationship building. Qualifications: Eight to ten years of progressive experience managing Indigenous engagement, community relations, consultation, regulatory, or stakeholder engagement projects. Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects within the natural resource sector. Demonstrated experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, work plans, and project reporting requirements. Experience managing project risks and delivering projects in a consulting or client-service environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous cultures, values, protocols, and engagement best practices. Demonstrated experience building respectful and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities in Canada. Knowledge of the natural resource sector, including regulatory, permitting, consultation, and environmental assessment processes. A diploma, or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. PMP designation or equivalent project management training is considered an asset. Masters degree or advanced diploma is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, tact, and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information. Willingness to travel throughout British Columbia and Canada, including remote communities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
