This individual will bring our mission to life by sharing the stories of the animals in our care, highlighting the impact of our programs, and helping the community understand that we are "More Than a Shelter". Storytelling & Content Creation - Develop compelling stories that showcase our animals, adopters, staff, donors, volunteers, programs, and community impact. - Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, website, email campaigns, press releases, and other communication channels. - Capture and share photos, videos, and success stories that inspire adoption, donations, volunteering, and community involvement. - Identify creative ways to highlight our mission and distinguish Animal Care League as a vital community resource. Marketing & Communications - Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that increase visibility, engagement, and support. - Manage the organization’s social media presence, website content and email communications. - Promote adoptable animals, fundraising campaigns, events, programs, and organizational initiatives through creative, timely, and consistent messaging. - Monitor engagement and marketing performance, using results to improve outreach and effectiveness. - Maintain a consistent, recognizable, and compelling organizational voice across all platforms. Community Relations & Public Speaking - Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, media outlets, community organizations, schools, and other potential partners. - Represent Animal Care League at community events, speaking engagements, media opportunities, and outreach activities. - Deliver engaging presentations that communicate our mission, programs, and impact to diverse audiences. - Identify opportunities to expand our community presence, develop partnerships, and increase public awareness. Events & Fundraising Support - Lead communications and promotional strategies for fundraising events, adoption events, donor engagement initiatives, and community programs. - Collaborate with the development and program teams to create compelling campaigns that inspire giving and participation. - Develop creative promotional ideas that increase event attendance, sponsorship visibility, and community engagement. - Support donor stewardship by communicating the tangible impact of contributions and sharing meaningful organizational updates. Qualifications - Excellent writing, storytelling, editing, and verbal communication skills. - Strong marketing, social media, and digital content creation experience. - Confident public speaker who enjoys connecting with people and representing an organization. - Creative, proactive, and comfortable developing new ideas and taking initiative. - Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across departments. - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. - Experience with social media management, email marketing, website content management, and basic design tools. - A genuine passion for animals and a commitment to animal welfare. - Nonprofit, public relations, marketing, communications, or community outreach experience preferred.
