Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and patient-centered Commercial Lead who wants to be part of the journey to redefine healthcare services of the future.

We are not currently in a position to offer sponsorship to candidates for this role.

Job Role: Commercial Lead (Business Development & Growth)

Location: London-based, with hybrid working and occasional travel between current and future skindoc sites, partner organisations and events.

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting to: CEO / Co-founder & Clinic Manager

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience, with annual performance-related bonus

About skindoc.

skindoc was founded in 2021 by two London-based Consultant Dermatologists to make high-quality specialist dermatology more accessible.

Starting as a digital-first service, skindoc has developed into a leading digi-physical dermatology provider, combining UK-wide online care with face-to-face clinics and an expanding range of specialist services.

Our next phase of growth will involve opening further clinical sites, developing new services and expanding partnerships across both the private and NHS sectors. We are therefore looking for a dedicated Commercial Lead to take ownership of business development, partnerships and commercial growth across both our digital and physical services.

Our Values

Those who succeed here strongly align with our values:

  1. Care for the patient

The healthcare services of the future need to focus on highly available quality care. That requires empathy, respect and passion for the patient and healthcare as a profession.

  1. Shoulder to shoulder

We create magic and results through collaboration and initiative. We look after each other, cultivate talent and combine expertise.

  1. Integrity as identity

Professional quality and ethical considerations come first. We stand tall and face difficult decisions together.

  1. Two steps ahead

Better solutions require innovative thinking, trust, and implementation power. We know that everything is possible and have the courage to deliver first.

About the Role

· This is a broad, hands-on commercial role for someone who wants to help build and scale a growing healthcare company.

· Working closely with the founders and senior leadership team, you will identify opportunities, generate new business, develop and manage partnerships, and help turn commercial ideas into functioning services.

· You will work across both our digital and face-to-face arms and will be responsible not only for winning new relationships, but also for strengthening existing ones.

· Successful healthcare partnerships need to work for both sides. You will therefore help ensure that our clients, partners and patients receive an excellent service, while our doctors and clinicians are equally well supported and engaged.

· This is not a purely desk-based sales role. You will move between commercial strategy, lead generation, account management, events, marketing collaboration, service launches and new clinic development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Commercial Strategy & Business Development
  • Shape and deliver skindoc's commercial strategy with the leadership team, spanning digital and face-to-face care across private, NHS and wider healthcare partnerships.
  • Research new markets, sites, services, commercial models and competitors.
  • Build business cases, financial projections and launch plans for new partnerships, services and sites.
  • Maintain a structured commercial roadmap, from initial contact through negotiation, launch and ongoing management.
  1. Business Development & Partnerships
  • Build a consistent pipeline of commercial opportunities across target groups: private hospitals, clinic groups, GP practices, PCNs, NHS Trusts, ICBs, insurers, employers, occupational health, pharmacies, and digital health platforms.
  • Generate introductions through networking, referrals, events and direct outreach; develop proposals, presentations and commercial offers.
  • Manage existing partnerships end-to-end, acting as key contact, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to expand into new services, locations or referral pathways.
  • Maintain strong relationships on both sides of each partnership: partners/clients (responsive, professional service) and clinicians (supported, engaged, able to deliver quality care).
  • Keep CRM records accurate and follow-ups timely; prioritise long-term relationships over short-term wins.
  1. New Clinics & Site Development
  • Identify and assess new clinic locations; support negotiations and business cases.
  • Coordinate openings, builds, refurbishments and fit-outs, managing contractors, suppliers, timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate signage, branding, wayfinding and launch materials.
  • Build local referral relationships ahead of launch, and support launch campaigns and post-launch review.
  • Requires regular travel and on-site time during launches and projects.
  1. New Service Development
  • Identify commercially attractive new services aligned with skindoc's offering.
  • Work with clinical leads on service requirements and sustainable models; research demand, competitors and pricing.
  • Build business cases, coordinate cross-team launch plans, and develop referral pathways.
  • Monitor post-launch performance and identify opportunities to improve or replicate services elsewhere.
  1. Marketing Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Marketing and Social Media Manager on a shared but distinct remit: Commercial Lead owns commercial objectives, partnerships, lead generation, referral growth, launches and conversion; Marketing owns content, channels, brand and creative execution.
  • Jointly develop campaigns, launch materials, referral collateral and partner communications, monitoring lead conversion.
  1. Events & Referrer Engagement
  • Develop and run educational/networking events (GP evenings, teaching sessions, clinic launches, corporate events) that build genuine value for referrers while raising awareness of skindoc's services and pathways.
  • Ensure every event has clear commercial objectives and systematic lead follow-up.
  1. Commercial Performance & Reporting
  • Set and report KPIs covering pipeline/conversion, referral volumes, revenue growth by channel, partner and clinician retention, new site/service performance, and event effectiveness.
  • Use data to prioritise where commercial effort and investment should be focused.
  1. Commercial Infrastructure
  • Develop SOPs, proposal templates, and partnership review frameworks; maintain structured CRM and pipeline management.
  • Support partner onboarding, tender/procurement submissions, due diligence and contract management.
  • Work with clinical, governance and finance teams to ensure commercial activity operates within a regulated healthcare environment (clinical/regulatory policy itself remains with clinical and governance leadership).
