This is a newly created position due to agency growth - not a replacement position. We're looking for an experienced, client-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work. You'll work alongside another Commercial Lines Account Manager to manage our existing commercial book, oversee renewals, and quote new business opportunities. Work Location: Our preference is for this position to be based at our Ayer, MA office with a hybrid work schedule. We will also consider Massachusetts-based remote candidates, particularly those with experience in Massachusetts commercial auto and RMV procedures. For the right experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager, a fully remote position outside Massachusetts may also be considered. What You'll Do Manage & Advise Clients: Manage a Main Street small commercial book representing approximately $500,000-$1 million in client premium. Build strong client relationships, provide responsive day-to-day service, review coverages, and help identify potential coverage gaps. Manage Renewals: Oversee the renewal process from start to finish, including reviewing exposures and coverages, gathering information, working with carrier partners, marketing accounts when appropriate, and helping clients evaluate their insurance options. Quote New Business: Work with prospective clients to understand their businesses and insurance needs, gather underwriting information, market and quote accounts, and present coverage options. You will also quote new opportunities for existing clients as their businesses grow and change. Work as a Team: Collaborate with our Commercial Lines team and other agency staff, share knowledge, embrace technology, and help us continually improve how we serve our clients. What You Bring Commercial Lines Experience: 3+ years of experience servicing, quoting, and managing commercial insurance accounts. Insurance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages with the ability to review policies, identify potential gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions. Client & Sales Skills: You're comfortable speaking directly with business owners, asking the right questions, explaining coverage, and presenting insurance options. Strong inside sales skills are a plus. Organization & Initiative: You're detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple renewals, new business opportunities, deadlines, and client requests. Technology: Experience with AMS360 and AgencyZoom is preferred, along with comfort using carrier websites and learning new technology. Licensing: An active Property & Casualty insurance license is required. Why Markham Group?
