Co-Founder / CTO

Role Description The Co-Founder / CTO will lead all technical aspects of the company, including product architecture, technology roadmap, and engineering execution. This full-time, on-site role in San Francisco, CA involves designing and building core systems, evaluating technologies, and setting development standards and best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include hands-on coding, reviewing technical designs, mentoring engineers, and collaborating closely with other founders on product, go-to-market, and long-term strategy. The Co-Founder / CTO will work directly with customers and partners to translate real-world problems into scalable technical solutions and will help define key metrics for reliability, performance, and security. This role also includes building and managing the engineering team, establishing processes, and contributing to fundraising and investor conversations as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to structure complex problems, interpret data, and make informed technical and business decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with co-founders, engineers, customers, and investors, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Experience with sales-related activities such as technical demos, solution design, and supporting customer conversations as a technical leader.
• Research skills to evaluate emerging technologies, prototype solutions, and validate assumptions through experimentation and customer feedback.
• Extensive experience in software engineering and system design, including building scalable, secure, and reliable products.
• Prior startup, founding, or early-stage experience, with comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Ability to recruit, lead, and mentor a diverse engineering team and establish effective engineering processes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, modern development tools, and DevOps practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
