This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities Management, Engineering, or Building Services professional who is looking to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a busy MOD site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small multi-skilled team of engineers across electrical, mechanical, and fabric disciplines, while overseeing the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive works, small projects, and additional works across the site. Working closely with the client, internal teams, and specialist subcontractors, you will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. The role will also involve regular client engagement, including weekly meetings, performance updates, work planning, and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery. Job Overview You will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operation of the MOD Stafford site, including: Managing and supporting a small multi-skilled team of electrical, mechanical, and fabric engineers Planning, coordinating, and delivering monthly PPM programmes Managing PPM delivery using a combination of internal labour and specialist external subcontractors Monitoring completed works to ensure they are delivered safely, correctly, and to the required standard Managing reactive maintenance and ensuring issues are dealt with promptly and effectively Quoting for and managing the delivery of small project and additional works Liaising with clients to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure expectations are met Attending and leading weekly client meetings, providing updates on PPM, reactive works, projects, and outstanding actions Managing labour, subcontractors, materials, and resources to ensure efficient service delivery Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring works are completed in accordance with agreed requirements Maintaining accurate site records, reports, compliance documentation, and work completion records Identifying opportunities for service improvements and additional works Supporting the wider contract management team with operational and commercial requirements Leadership & Management The successful candidate will provide effective leadership to the site engineering team, ensuring engineers are supported, appropriately utilised, and working to the required standards. Responsibilities will include: Managing day-to-day workloads and priorities across the engineering team Planning labour requirements around the PPM programme and reactive workload Monitoring engineer performance, attendance, productivity, and quality of work Ensuring engineers have the appropriate training, tools, equipment, and information required to undertake their duties Supporting engineers with technical and operational issues Promoting a positive team culture and strong customer service ethos Identifying training and development requirements within the team Health & Safety Responsibilities Health and Safety is a fundamental aspect of this role. The successful candidate will be expected to actively promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the site by: Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and MOD requirements Reviewing RAMS and ensuring suitable control measures are in place before works commence Carrying out regular site inspections and safety audits Ensuring engineers and subcontractors follow safe systems of work Monitoring housekeeping and site standards Reporting and investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions where required Ensuring compliance documentation and statutory requirements are maintained Challenging unsafe working practices and driving continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance Client & Contract Management A key part of the role will be maintaining a strong and professional relationship with the client. You will be expected to: Act as a key operational point of contact for the client Attend regular weekly meetings and provide clear updates on site performance Provide updates on PPM completion, reactive works, projects, and outstanding actions Respond proactively to client concerns and resolve issues effectively Ensure agreed service levels and contractual requirements are maintained Build strong working relationships with the client and key stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction Requirements & Qualifications We are looking for a confident and capable Site / Facilities Manager with strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Contract Supervisor, Engineering Manager, or similar role Experience managing multi-skilled engineering teams Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and fabric/building services Experience managing PPM programmes and reactive maintenance Experience managing internal engineers and external specialist subcontractors Experience quoting for and delivering small works or projects Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills Excellent organisational and time-management skills Good commercial awareness Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements Experience reviewing RAMS and managing safe systems of work Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CAFM/work management systems Full UK Driving Licence Desirable Qualifications IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate SSSTS or SMSTS Relevant electrical, mechanical, building services, or FM qualification Experience working within MOD environments or secure sites Included Competitive salary of £46,000 – £50,000 (DOE) Competitive benefits package to be discussed 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays Secure, long-term employment Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (subject to package) Fuel card (where applicable) Company pension scheme PPE and uniform provided Ongoing training and development opportunities Opportunity to work on a prestigious MOD contract Why Join Us?
