# CloudOps Engineer **FlairsTech** · Cairo · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Requirements and responsibilities Position Summary The GCP & GKE Cloud Engineer is a hands-on cloud infrastructure expert responsible for designing, deploying, and managing customer environments on Google Cloud Platform, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes (GKE) and Infrastructure-as-Code via Terraform. This role requires deep technical fluency across GCP's core services and the ability to architect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities GCP Platform Engineering Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure across core GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, IAM, Cloud SQL/Spanner, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, etc.). Architect solutions that follow GCP best practices for security, scalability, high availability, and cost optimization. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure performance and reliability. Implement and maintain IAM policies, service accounts, and network security controls in line with least-privilege principles. Kubernetes & GKE Deploy, configure, and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, including node pools, autoscaling, networking (VPC-native clusters, Ingress, Gateway API), and workload identity. Manage containerized application deployments, Helm charts, and GitOps-based release workflows. Troubleshoot cluster and workload issues (pod failures, resource constraints, networking, RBAC). Implement Kubernetes security best practices (namespaces, network policies, pod security standards). Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Build and maintain Terraform modules to provision and manage GCP infrastructure and GKE clusters in a repeatable, version-controlled manner. Manage Terraform state, workspaces, and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment. Review and enforce IaC standards across the team to ensure consistency and maintainability. Troubleshoot and resolve Terraform drift, plan/apply issues, and module dependency conflicts. Cross-Functional & Delivery Collaborate with DevOps, Solutions Consulting, and Software Engineering teams to align infrastructure design with application requirements. Support customer engagements by providing architecture recommendations and technical guidance on GCP/GKE adoption. Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for cloud infrastructure issues. Document architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures for supported environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). 3–6 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform in a production environment. Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). Terraform experience is mandatory — proven ability to write, maintain, and troubleshoot Terraform modules for GCP infrastructure. Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, load balancing) within GCP. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices for infrastructure and application delivery. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across cloud and container environments. Preferred Qualifications GCP certification(s): Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Anthos Service Mesh). Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, Go). Familiarity with monitoring/observability stacks (Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana). Experience in a multi-tenant or MSP environment supporting multiple customer accounts. Key Competencies Deep technical expertise combined with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach. Strong ownership mentality across infrastructure lifecycle — design, deployment, and operations. Ability to work independently on complex technical problems while communicating clearly with cross-functional teams. Commitment to infrastructure-as-code discipline and repeatable, auditable deployments.
