Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of construction and development projects. The candidate will work closely with consultants, contractors, architects, authorities, and the internal project management team to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, civil, and infrastructure drawings and specifications.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor quality and workmanship.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate appropriate solutions with the project team.
• Review method statements, material submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical documents.
• Monitor project progress against the approved construction programme.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Verify site measurements and completed works where required.
• Monitor concrete, reinforcement, blockwork, waterproofing, finishing, and other civil works.
• Ensure construction activities comply with UAE regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, authority standards, and project specifications.
• Assist in coordinating authority approvals, inspections, NOCs, and project-related submissions.
• Monitor contractors' compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Assist with snagging, testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, approvals, RFIs, inspections, and technical correspondence.
• Highlight construction delays, quality concerns, technical risks, and coordination issues to management.
• Support the Project Manager and Development Management team throughout all project stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant civil engineering experience .
• UAE construction or development experience is preferred.
• Experience with developers, project management consultants, engineering consultants, or main contractors is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of civil and structural construction works.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality and relevant UAE authority requirements.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD .
• Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint .
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, Revit, or BIM coordination is an advantage.
• Good understanding of RFIs, inspections, method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals.
