You won't simply inherit an established security program. You'll help define what great AI security looks like and embed it across a complex international organization.

About the Role

As the thematic CISO for Artificial Intelligence within Group Security, you will be AXA's leading expert on AI security .

Your mission is to build and run a holistic AI security program that enables innovation while protecting the models, data, and infrastructure behind it.

Working across data science teams, innovation hubs, local CISOs, business units, and Group functions, you will translate emerging AI risks into practical security strategies and controls. Your goal: make secure AI a core principle of every AI initiative .

The program will be structured around the NIST Cybersecurity Framework , adapted to the specific opportunities and risks created by AI.

What You'll Do

You will turn AI security strategy into meaningful, enterprise-wide impact.

- Set the direction for AI security. Define and drive AXA's AI Security Strategy, aligning responsible AI principles, cybersecurity priorities, and emerging regulation, including the EU AI Act. - Anticipate the next generation of threats. Establish approaches for identifying and assessing risks including adversarial attacks, data poisoning, model evasion, prompt injection, and other emerging AI vulnerabilities. - Secure the AI lifecycle by design. Define security standards and architecture patterns spanning data acquisition, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and ongoing operation. - Protect critical AI assets. Strengthen the confidentiality and integrity of AI models and training data while supporting a consolidated view of critical AI assets. - Advance AI threat detection. Guide the development of monitoring capabilities for anomalous model behavior, model drift, and attacks against AI systems, and establish AI-specific indicators for Security Operations. - Prepare AXA to respond and recover. Define and test incident response approaches for scenarios such as compromised models or significant data exposure through Generative AI services. - Create alignment across a global organization. Bring together security, technology, data science, business, and executive stakeholders to turn complex AI security challenges into clear decisions and actionable guidance.

What You'll Bring

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who combines deep cybersecurity expertise with an understanding of how AI is changing the risk landscape.

You'll bring:

- 10+ years of experience in information security or a closely related field, including leadership experience connected to AI/ML, data science, or their security. - A strong understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle and common AI frameworks. - Knowledge of AI-specific threats and controls, including adversarial machine learning . - Strong knowledge of data privacy and emerging AI regulation . - The ability to balance ambitious innovation with pragmatic, risk-based security. - Experience operating successfully in complex, international, and matrixed environments. - The credibility to engage senior executives while collaborating effectively with highly technical teams. - Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to make sophisticated AI security concepts clear and actionable for audiences ranging from developers to senior leadership. - A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build consensus, influence outcomes, and guide stakeholders across cultures and functions.
