Role overview - Define, lead and execute Joud’s technology strategy as a core driver of product development, commercial growth, operational resilience and competitive advantage. - Evaluate the existing platform, decide how it should evolve, and build the technology organization for future products and markets. Key responsibilities Technology strategy - Own the technology vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned with business objectives. - Lead build-versus-buy, modernization and technology partnership decisions; advise the CEO on trade-offs and investment. - Evaluate emerging technologies and new technology-enabled products and business models. Product partnership - Shape an integrated product and technology roadmap jointly with Product leadership. - Product owns customer needs and commercial prioritization; the CTO owns architecture, engineering execution and technical feasibility. Architecture and platform - Own target-state architecture and technical standards for secure, scalable,modular, API-based platforms. - Oversee capabilities for payments, digital identity, credit decisioning and customer servicing. - Address technical debt and set sourcing models across internal teams, partners and managed services. Engineering, delivery and operations - Build and lead engineering, infrastructure and technology operations. - Set engineering standards, SDLC, QA, release, monitoring and incident management. - Own platform reliability, availability and performance, with measurable KPIs. - Data, AI and innovation - Build data infrastructure and governance for analytics, AI and automation. - Develop proprietary decisioning and other differentiated technology assets, adopted responsibly and securely. Cybersecurity, risk and compliance - Own technology, cyber and operational resilience risk as first-line executive owner of technology controls. - Ensure compliance with QCB requirements, PCI DSS where relevant, and data protection obligations. - Maintain access, change, vulnerability and incident controls, BC/DR testing, third-party risk and audit readiness. - Implement approved Sharia-compliant product structures in systems. Organization and talent - Design the technology organization and balance internal teams, outsourcing and specialist partners. - Recruit, develop and retain talent; build a culture of ownership and accountability. Investment and vendors - Own technology budgets and investment plans; improve unit economics and cost efficiency. - Manage strategic vendors with clear SLAs; report on technology performance, spend and risk. Expected outcomes - Approved technology strategy, target architecture and investment plan. - Secure, reliable and scalable platform ready for commercial operations and growth. - Defined technology operating model, with reduced external dependency where appropriate. - Effective technology risk management, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.Minimum qualifications - 10+ years in software engineering or technology architecture, including substantial senior leadership. - Track record defining technology strategy and scaling digital platforms. - Experience in regulated financial services, fintech, payments or lending. - Strong knowledge of cloud, APIs, system integration, cybersecurity and data platforms. - Experience with payment, identity or transaction-processing integrations. - Proven ability to build teams, manage technology partners and make sound build-versus-buy decisions. - Able to meet regulatory fit-and-proper and background screening requirements. Preferred qualifications - Prior CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Technology role. - Experience in BNPL, digital lending, payments or embedded finance. - Familiarity with QCB requirements and the GCC regulatory environment. - Experience scaling a technology organization through significant commercial growth.
