Chief Technology Officer

Are you an experienced, customer-facing, technically hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) capable of leading the development and deployment of autonomous vehicle technology?

We require a CTO with deep, practical expertise in Autoware, who can take ownership of the autonomous driving software stack, lead its continued development and ensure successful integration into our autonomous vehicle platforms.

This is a senior technical leadership position requiring someone who combines strong autonomous systems engineering credentials with the ability to lead, develop and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Autoware Leadership: Take technical ownership of the Autoware autonomous driving stack, including architecture, configuration, customization, optimization and deployment.
• Autonomous Systems Development: Lead the development and integration of perception, localization, mapping, planning and control systems.
• Technical Strategy: Define and execute the technology roadmap, ensuring the software architecture supports scalable, safe and reliable autonomous vehicle deployment.
• System Integration: Oversee integration of autonomous software with vehicle hardware, sensors, drive-by-wire systems, computing platforms and communications infrastructure.
• Engineering Leadership: Build, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, setting technical standards and driving accountability and delivery.
• Project Delivery: Manage engineering priorities, resources and development timelines, balancing hands-on technical work with broader program leadership.
• Testing & Validation: Establish robust simulation, testing and validation processes to ensure system performance, reliability and safety.
• External Collaboration: Work with customers, technology partners and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and support successful deployments.

Experience & Technical Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Autoware, ideally including production deployment and customization of the platform.
• Strong understanding of autonomous driving architectures and the ROS / ROS 2 ecosystem.
• Deep technical knowledge across several of the following:
• Perception and sensor fusion (LiDAR, cameras, radar).
• Localization, SLAM and mapping.
• Motion planning and trajectory generation.
• Vehicle control and drive-by-wire integration.
• Autonomous vehicle simulation and validation.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Experience with Linux, distributed software systems and embedded computing platforms.
• Understanding of autonomous vehicle safety, reliability and system validation.
• Previous experience leading software, robotics or autonomous systems engineering teams.
