Chief of Staff
# Chief of Staff **Manufactured Housing Community Management Company** · Kansas City, MO 64153 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 5 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role We are seeking a Chief of Staff to take ownership of critical business functions and execute executive priorities across our property management, construction, and other businesses. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take a complex assignment, determine what needs to happen, and follow it through to completion. You will work directly with executive leadership to solve problems, strengthen systems, and ensure important responsibilities are handled accurately and on time. The responsibility is not simply to coordinate work - it is to make sure the work gets done. You should be equally comfortable improving a process and personally handling the details required to keep it running. Primary Responsibilities - Special Projects & Process Improvement: Execute projects and initiatives assigned by executive leadership. Research unfamiliar issues, develop practical plans, coordinate contributors, and manage deadlines through implementation. Identify recurring problems and build documented processes that prevent them from continuing. - Executive Representation & Follow-Through: Attend meetings, demonstrations, and product or service calls on behalf of executives. Ask relevant questions, evaluate information, provide clear recommendations, and track resulting commitments and action items. Exercise judgment within delegated authority and escalate decisions requiring executive approval. - Titles, Licenses & Agency Coordination: Track titles, coordinate documentation, and manage transfers through completion. Maintain organized tracking of licenses, permits, renewals, and related deadlines. Research and coordinate responses to employer-related agency notices and requests, obtaining appropriate review before submission. - IT & Company Systems: Administer company systems, user access, and technology-related processes. Troubleshoot issues, coordinate technical support, evaluate solutions, and implement improvements that reduce manual work and strengthen reliability. - Human Resources & Personnel Administration: Manage recruiting, hiring, W-2 onboarding, personnel records, terminations, and offboarding in coordination with leadership. Build and refine HR processes, documentation, and procedures to support consistent execution and accountability. Manage onboarding for domestic and foreign independent contractors, including agreements, required documentation, internal records, and system access. This responsibility excludes vendor onboarding. - Payroll, Benefits & Auditing: Manage payroll administration and verify payroll inputs, investigate discrepancies, coordinate benefits administration, and audit supporting records for accuracy and completeness. - AI Implementation & Automation (Preferred): Experience evaluating and implementing AI tools and automations is highly valued. Candidates with this capability may take ownership of AI initiatives across our businesses, identifying opportunities to reduce manual work, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency and accuracy. Responsibilities may include leading solutions from research and testing through implementation, documentation, and team adoption, while maintaining appropriate safeguards for confidential information and human oversight. How You Work You investigate before drawing conclusions, ask precise questions, and make recommendations supported by facts. You notice missing information, inconsistencies, and unfinished work - and take responsibility for resolving them. You can work independently within clear objectives while recognizing when an issue requires additional expertise or approval. You communicate directly and professionally, handle sensitive personnel matters with discretion, and address difficult issues rather than avoiding them. You organize competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and follow through without repeated reminders. When priorities change, you clarify tradeoffs and keep leadership informed of deadlines, risks, and decisions needed. Relevant Experience Experience in business operations, executive operations, or project management, with demonstrated responsibility for completing work independently. Strong written communication, spreadsheet skills, and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems are important. Experience supporting multiple entities and building repeatable processes is preferred. What Success Looks Like Executive projects reach completion, and improved processes reduce errors, delays, and the need for repeated follow-up. Responsibilities are completed accurately and on schedule. Culture Index Survey Think you have what it takes?
