Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Police to lead our law enforcement agency with integrity, vision, and dedication. As the top law enforcement officer in our community, you will oversee all departmental operations, ensure public safety, and foster strong relationships with residents, businesses, and partner agencies. This role demands a proactive leader with exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and a passion for service. The Chief of Police will be responsible for maintaining order, enforcing laws, managing personnel, and guiding the department toward continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to all department divisions, including patrol, investigations, community outreach, and administrative services.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational plans aligned with legal standards and community needs.
• Oversee criminal investigations, ensuring thoroughness in evidence collection, report writing, and case management.
• Supervise recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development of department personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws such as traffic laws, procedural law, criminal law, evidence law, search and seizure law, animal handling regulations, and local ordinances.
• Manage emergency response coordination including first aid protocols (CPR and first aid), conflict management strategies, use of force training, and fire arms handling procedures in law enforcement contexts.
• Oversee traffic enforcement efforts including patrol operations using standard passenger cars while ensuring officers adhere to driving safety standards.
• Maintain effective communication with community members through outreach programs to foster trust and cooperation.
• Prepare detailed reports on departmental activities, incidents, investigations, and departmental performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other agencies on criminal investigations involving complex or multi-jurisdictional cases.

Experience

• Extensive law enforcement experience with a proven track record in criminal investigation techniques and arrest procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership capability in managing diverse teams within a police or military environment.
• Strong knowledge of procedural law, criminal procedure, evidence law, search and seizure law, animal care regulations, and local ordinances.
• Proficiency in report writing that clearly documents incidents and investigative findings.
• Experience in conflict management and use of force training to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
• Background in firearms handling specific to law enforcement standards along with physical conditioning to meet job demands.
• Familiarity with surveillance techniques including CCTV monitoring for crime prevention purposes.
• Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely under various conditions while adhering to traffic laws.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
