Our operations span men's clothing retail, wholesale apparel distribution, commercial real estate, and hospitality. With significant expansion underway, we are entering an exciting stage of growth. We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer to help lead that growth and build the operational foundation for our future. The Opportunity We are seeking a strong, hands-on executive who can take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our businesses. This is not simply an administrative or advisory position. We are looking for someone who can lead our management team, make decisions, improve profitability, and establish the systems and accountability necessary to support a growing organization. The COO will work closely with ownership on long-term strategy while independently managing the company's daily operations. We value experience, sound judgment, financial discipline, and the willingness to challenge existing processes when there is a better way forward. The right candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a growing company and play an important role in shaping its future. Key Responsibilities Executive Leadership & Operations - Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple business divisions and locations. - Lead, coach, and develop department leaders and store management teams. - Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards. - Make independent operational decisions and resolve business challenges. - Develop and implement processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability. - Build an organizational structure capable of supporting continued expansion. Financial Management - Develop and manage annual operating budgets. - Monitor profitability, expenses, labor costs, and cash flow. - Review financial performance across business divisions and individual locations. - Work closely with our accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. - Identify opportunities to increase profitability and improve financial performance. - Evaluate operational investments and manage spending within approved budgets. People & Organizational Development - Oversee management performance, hiring, training, and employee accountability. - Develop existing leaders and identify future leadership opportunities. - Establish consistent policies and procedures across locations. - Foster a culture of ownership, professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement. Growth & Expansion - Lead the operational planning and execution of new store openings. - Help integrate new businesses and locations into the existing organization. - Develop scalable systems that support long-term growth. - Work alongside ownership to evaluate opportunities and execute strategic initiatives. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications - Significant experience in operations management, general management, or executive leadership. - Proven success leading managers and teams in a multi-department or multi-location environment. - Strong financial understanding, including budgets, P&Ls, expense management, and operational profitability. - Demonstrated ability to improve business processes and hold teams accountable. - Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. - Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership. - Ability to work independently and take responsibility for results. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in retail, hospitality, multi-unit operations, or a similarly service-oriented industry. - Experience supporting business expansion or opening new locations. - Experience working in a privately owned or entrepreneurial business. - Familiarity with inventory management, purchasing, and financial reporting systems. Direct experience in the clothing industry is not required. We are more interested in proven leadership ability, financial judgment, and operational experience. What Success Looks Like The successful COO will create an organization where managers are empowered, expectations are clear, financial performance is closely monitored, and daily operations run effectively without constant involvement from ownership. We want someone who will identify problems before they become emergencies, bring solutions rather than just questions, and help build a company positioned for sustainable long-term growth. Compensation & Benefits - Base salary: dependent on qualifications and experience. - Performance-based bonus opportunity. - Opportunity for long-term professional growth as the company expands. - Direct involvement in executive decision-making and company strategy. - Meaningful autonomy and responsibility within a growing organization. Location & Schedule This is a full-time, in-person leadership position based in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Regular travel to company locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota will be required. How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a brief introduction outlining your leadership experience, the size and scope of operations you have managed, and why this opportunity interests you. We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate measurable improvements in profitability, team performance, or operational efficiency.
