The company is developing the Automatic Smart Door, a retrofit system that transforms existing residential swing doors into intelligent automatic doors. Think: "Alexa, open this door." By reimagining doors, Sesame Technologies is introducing new levels of independence, accessibility, convenience, and freedom to the modern smart home. Position Overview This is a unique opportunity to help build a startup aiming to disrupt the smart home industry by reimagining one of the home's most familiar features: the door. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will join as an early operating partner, working closely with the CEO on planning, fundraising and execution. This hands-on role calls for an energetic, self-directed leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup where priorities evolve, is excited about smart home technology and sees the opportunity to help shape its future. The COO will build and develop teams, own budgets and operating plans, coordinate suppliers and production, and establish processes that turn shared priorities into measurable results. Success requires sound judgment, initiative and the ability to adapt while keeping the team focused on bringing the product to market and growing the business. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute the multi-phase operating plan and three-year roadmap - Own budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning, and financial reporting - Develop the pitch deck, investor materials, and funding plan - Set milestones and performance metrics; resolve bottlenecks and improve processes - Oversee daily business operations and align teams, resources and priorities - Manage suppliers and coordinate production, inventory and customer fulfillment - Recruit and develop teams; define responsibilities and performance expectations - Develop strategic partnerships and coordinate marketing and sales execution Qualifications and Preferred Experience - 3+ years of experience in operations, general management or a related leadership role - Experience owning budgets, building forecasts and reporting against financial targets - Experience hiring or managing teams and setting measurable performance goals - Examples of independently leading projects from planning through measurable results - Demonstrated improvements in cost, efficiency, delivery timelines or business growth - Experience in startups, hardware, manufacturing, supply chain or fundraising preferred - Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred Compensation and Commitment Equity terms will be agreed upon in writing before joining, including vesting and funding conditions. The initial equity award will be issued and salary will begin when the next funding round closes, targeted for Winter 2026. Timing is not guaranteed. Salary will be agreed upon based on the funded operating budget. Initial availability may be part-time, with a full-time commitment required once the funding round closes.
