Chief Operating Officer

Travel: Occasional travel required Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Compensation: $150,000 to $225,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus a performance bonus Benefits: Health insurance and 401(k) About Lionheart Energy Lionheart Energy helps businesses and property owners reduce energy use and costs through energy-efficiency upgrades, including HVAC systems, insulation, windows, and building controls. We also install clean energy solutions, including electric vehicle (EV) chargers and battery energy storage systems (BESS). With our own construction and electrical teams, we deliver projects across Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on Chief Operating Officer to lead day-to-day operations across all markets we serve. Working alongside the CEO, the COO will translate company strategy into measurable results, oversee departments directly or through their managers, and develop the teams, systems, and operating discipline needed to support growth. The COO will help expand our energy-efficiency, construction, and electrical services, enter new markets, and launch new products while maintaining quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Key Responsibilities • Lead company-wide operations, including project delivery, field operations, procurement, and back-office functions across all states. • Partner with the CEO to oversee all departments, directly or through their managers, and directly manage the Head of Sales. • Set and monitor operating goals, budgets, and key performance indicators, providing the CEO with clear, timely reporting on company performance. • Lead the operational execution of expansion into new states and markets, including licensing strategy, local team development, and supplier relationships. • Build and improve processes, tools, and reporting for multistate operations, including scheduling, job costing, cost control, safety, and compliance. • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to improve margins, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. • Collaborate with the CEO and ownership on strategy, acquisitions, and major company decisions. Skills and Qualifications • A proven track record of leading a company, division, or multistate operation. • Demonstrated success driving growth through market expansion, new office openings, revenue growth, or margin improvement. • Strong financial and operational skills, including budgeting, P&L management, and job costing. • An ambitious, hands-on leadership style and the ability to set clear priorities, hold teams accountable, and deliver results. • Ability to work in person in Connecticut and travel occasionally to project sites in other states. Preferred Experience • Energy-efficiency experience is strongly preferred. • Construction or real estate experience is also valued. Success in This Role • Operations, sales, and installation teams are aligned around shared goals, budgets, and KPIs across all states. • EV, energy-efficiency, battery energy storage, and utility-incentive projects move from sale through closeout on schedule and at target margins, with funding deadlines, licensing requirements, and staffing needs managed proactively. • New products and territories launch efficiently, with the teams, processes, and resources needed to succeed. • Issues are resolved or escalated early, and the CEO has a clear, current view of company performance. Role Scope The COO leads company-wide operations and the systems that support them. Final authority over strategic direction, acquisitions, and major company decisions remains with the CEO and ownership.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
