The Opportunity

We’re searching for a Chief Legal Officer / General Counsel to work closely with our founders and leadership team, provide strategic legal guidance, and help build the legal foundation for WideXP’s growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the founders and leadership team on company direction, growth, and key initiatives.
• Develop and guide WideXP’s legal strategy as the company expands.
• Review, negotiate, and support the preparation of client, partner, supplier, and contractor agreements.
• Advise on intellectual property, software ownership, licensing, and confidentiality.
• Support the company with corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Provide guidance on data privacy and the legal aspects of working across international markets.
• Advise on employment and contractor arrangements.
• Support business development, partnerships, and potential investment discussions from a legal perspective.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel when specialized or local expertise is needed.
• Help establish practical legal processes that support the company’s growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, senior legal advisor, or in a comparable leadership role.
• A law degree and admission to the bar in a U.S. jurisdiction, with good standing.
• Experience advising technology, software, consulting, or other service-based businesses.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
• Ability to identify legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Experience with international business, data privacy, or European regulations such as GDPR is a plus.
• Experience working with growing companies or serving on advisory or leadership boards is a plus.
