Diyre is building a new way to buy and sell homes. Our platform combines licensed brokerage services, an on-demand marketplace of real estate professionals, and technology that gives consumers more control over the process and what they pay for it. We’re bringing listing tools, showing coordination, offer management, automated documents, AI guidance, and access to mortgage and title professionals into one platform. Customers can choose the services they need while getting professional support throughout their transaction. We believe we’re building some of the most advanced technology real estate has seen, including capabilities that go well beyond AI. We’re preparing to launch with licensed brokerage operations across 20-plus states , giving us a substantial footprint from the start. We’re looking for an experienced real estate attorney to join us as Chief Legal Officer and help build the company alongside our founders. Why join Diyre? Legal decisions will influence the product from the beginning, and you’ll work directly with the founders and brokers to make those decisions. This role offers considerable responsibility and ownership. You’ll establish the legal function, help guide a multistate launch, and build a team as the company grows. If you’ve spent your career seeing opportunities to improve real estate, this is a chance to put those ideas into practice. What you’ll be responsible for - Reviewing our current documents and systems. Review legal agreements, disclosures, brokerage policies, platform terms, operational procedures, and technical specifications to identify gaps and recommend improvements. - Providing legal advice and representation. Advise Diyre on business, brokerage, and transaction matters. Represent the company when needed and within your professional authority, and coordinate outside counsel where necessary. - Drafting legal documents. Write and maintain contracts, disclosures, policies, service agreements, and other documents needed to support the business. - Working with our brokers. Address legal questions, transaction concerns, consumer complaints, and brokerage needs across the states where we operate. - Advising our technology team. Help developers understand how legal requirements should be reflected in document automation, customer workflows, and AI-assisted services. - Supporting our launch and expansion. Establish a legal framework that supports consistent operations while accounting for state-specific requirements. - Building and managing the legal team. Hire and supervise future legal staff, select outside counsel, and oversee their work. - Helping lead the company. Participate in strategic decisions, identify issues early, and recommend practical ways to move forward. Who we’re looking for You’re a licensed attorney in good standing with substantial real estate experience and an interest in helping build a company. You should be comfortable reviewing detailed documents, advising leadership, working through unfamiliar issues, and taking responsibility for the legal function. We’re especially interested in attorneys with experience in: - Residential real estate transactions and brokerage operations. - Contracts, disclosures, consumer issues, and risk management. - Multistate legal matters and coordination with local counsel. - Proptech, title or settlement services, or startup businesses. - Managing legal staff or outside counsel. You don’t need to be a software developer, but you should be interested in technology and willing to work closely with the people building it. Clear communication matters. We need someone who can explain what needs to happen and help the team get it done. Equity and ownership You’ll start with a 5% equity grant, with the opportunity to earn up to 10% total equity based on your contributions and achievement of agreed milestones. Those milestones may include completing our initial legal review, preparing the company for launch, supporting expansion into additional states, improving legal processes, and building the legal team. The equity structure, vesting provisions, milestone requirements, and other terms will be established in the final agreement.
