We serve customers in demanding defense, aerospace, and industrial markets where quality, precision, on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and financial discipline are critical. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and help guide the company's next phase of expansion. This is a hands-on executive leadership position for a financial leader who understands manufacturing operations and can translate financial and operational data into better business decisions. The CFO will oversee the company's financial organization while serving as a strategic partner to ownership, the CEO, and senior leadership. Particular emphasis will be placed on manufacturing cost control, government-contract accounting, cash management, financial planning, capital allocation, and scalable financial systems and controls. POSITION OVERVIEW The CFO will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, banking relationships, capital investments, and financial strategy. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing cost accounting, government contract compliance, profitability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines executive-level financial expertise with a hands-on understanding of manufacturing operations and the ability to translate financial data into strategic business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. - Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, business growth, capital investments, and financial performance. - Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, job costing, inventory valuation, labor efficiency, overhead allocation, and profitability analysis. - Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable government contract accounting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and CAS. - Maintain accurate contract-level cost tracking, direct and indirect cost allocation, labor charging, and financial documentation. - Support government contract audits, cost reporting, pricing submissions, and DCAA/DCMA reviews as applicable. - Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, working capital, and capital expenditures. - Develop financial KPIs and reporting systems to monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement. - Establish effective internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices. - Lead and develop accounting and finance personnel while collaborating with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and executive leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. - 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. - Significant financial management experience within a manufacturing environment. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, job costing, inventory management, and financial analysis. - Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial reporting, and banking relationships. - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, and compliance requirements. - Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and strategic decision-making skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - CPA, CMA, or MBA. - Experience in defense manufacturing, aerospace, CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or metal fabrication. - Government contract accounting experience, including FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA/DCMA audit support. - Experience with manufacturing ERP systems such as Epicor, JobBOSS, ECI, Global Shop Solutions, NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems. - Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and business expansion. - Background in privately held, family-owned, or high-growth manufacturing companies.
