Willis, J.D., C.P.A. SUPERVISED BY : Managing Partner/Board of Directors JOB DESCRIPTION: The Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) oversees all aspects of the firm’s financial operations and functions. The candidate must have strong technical accounting knowledge, with ten (10) years’ experience preferred. The position requires exemplary organization skills, attention to detail, client service, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and QuickBooks is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The CFO will be expected to be a meaningful contributor in the following areas: - Supervises the firm’s accounting department, providing leadership, training, support, and feedback to department personnel. - Responsible for company financial reporting for law firm, and all associated entities. - Acts as a key strategic advisor into the firm’s business direction and tactical efforts. - Supplies data and advice regarding attorney compensation, budgeting, practice group efforts, and related projects intended to position the firm for financial and operational success. - Maintains and improves the integrity of the firm’s financial practices and oversees relationships with financial institutions, and CPAs. - Responsible for cash flow analysis and projections. - Evaluates and implements the effectiveness of internal financial controls. - Oversees and participates in all cash management, budging, billing, collections, vendor payments, payroll, and retirement plan issues. - Responsible for tracking, analyzing, reporting, and collecting on accounts receivable. - Prepares monthly partnership financial reports, including productivity and financial statements. - Monitors trends and performs benchmarking within the legal industry.
