The Vanguard School seeks a full-time CFO/Business Manager. Vanguard is an independent, co-educational boarding/day school serving 110 students in grades six through twelve, located in Lake Wales, Florida.

Requirements

The CFO/Business Manager will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all aspects of Vanguard's financial operations. The CFO/Business Manager will serve on the School’s senior leadership team, report directly to the Head of School (HOS), work closely with the Vanguard Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee, and support the institution's long-term strategic and financial planning. The CFO/Business Manager will ensure fiscal integrity by promoting best practices in finance. The Business Manager will also oversee facilities, HR, and school operations.

In addition to financial expertise, the successful candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills when working with faculty, staff, and school families, and a collaborative spirit with all school constituencies. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting. A strong understanding of complex financial instruments and proven experience developing financial strategies that support strategic priorities are essential.
