Chief Financial Officer

Mark Williams is partnering with a Services company based in Dubai to appoint a CFO.

Our client is a highly respected and well-established company with a strong presence across the Middle East. As the business continues to expand, they are seeking a CFO or an experienced FD who is looking to make the step up and can manage relationships and support the continuous growth of the company.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a pivotal role in organisation and will consist of the

following duties:

Key Responsibilities

•Proven ability to combine strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational finance management

•Strong commercial acumen, with a comprehensive understanding of business operations and financial performance

•Sound understanding of the commercial and financial dynamics of contracting and project-based businesses

•Expertise in P&L management, project profitability, margin optimisation, cost control and operational efficiency

•Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, with the willingness to engage in financial detail when required

•Demonstrable experience engaging with Board members, executive leadership teams and senior stakeholders

•Confident presenting financial results, business performance updates and strategic recommendations at Board level

•Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

•Ability to influence decision-making, provide constructive challenge and build credibility with senior leadership

•Extensive experience overseeing financial reporting, management information and performance analysis

•Strong understanding of ERP systems, including implementation, optimisation and ongoing management

•Expertise in establishing robust financial controls, reporting frameworks and governance structures

•Ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful commercial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making

•Strong understanding of joint venture structures, commercial agreements and strategic partnerships

•Experience supporting the negotiation, structuring and financial management of joint venture arrangements

•Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and business integration

•Ability to assess the financial, operational and commercial implications of partnership and investment agreements

•Experience reviewing contractual financial obligations, commercial terms, ongoing commitments and post-completion responsibilities

•Experience operating across multiple international markets and managing finance functions within diverse business environments.

•Strong understanding of the financial, commercial and operational complexities associated with international businesses

Requirements

•Current or previous CFO of a medium-to-large operational business or FD looking to step up in their first CFO position

•Ideally minimum of 15 years of overall finance experience

•Previous experience in Facilities Management, MEP, engineering, contracting or technical services

•Strong operational and commercial finance background

•Experience managing complex project and contract-based P&Ls

•Previous Board-level exposure

•Strong ERP and financial reporting experience

•JV and M&A exposure

•International business experience

•Strong executive presence and communication skills

•Arabic and English bilingual

•Commercially minded, hands-on and capable of getting into the detail
