The CFO is responsible for financial management, analysis, and forecasting. The CFO is a strategic thought partner with the CEO in identifying diversified revenue models and enhancing organizational sustainability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the finance, revenue cycle, and IT functions. - Direct all accounting team functions, ensuring robust internal controls, GAAP compliance, and the timely, accurate delivery of financial statements and reports. - Oversee revenue cycle performance, utilizing weekly and monthly reporting to monitor accounts receivable, identify workflow bottlenecks, and support process improvements. - Cultivate and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including auditors, banking partners, payers, and regulatory agencies. - Maintain and refine the methodology for accounting for PPS (Prospective Payment System) wrap-around payments, including associated receivables and liabilities, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state guidance. - Ensure the timely and accurate completion of annual audits, cost reports, and financial reporting to grantmakers, along with other external reporting requirements (e.g., HRSA, UDS, state and federal agencies). - Support organizational leadership in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including partnering with program leads to monitor and evaluate program-level performance and providing analysis to inform and support their recommendations. - Support vendor contract management and negotiation, as needed, including reviewing and providing guidance on fee structure and contract provisions. - Provider oversight of organizational procurement processes and ensure fiscal compliance. - Demonstrates leadership and management skills that foster a culture of mentoring, coaching, motivating, and engaging staff. - Models and communicates key values in a way that supports the Center for Family Health’s mission. - Educates and empowers staff to be proficient in meeting current and future organizational goals. - Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Center’s finance department by participating in planning efforts, integrating finance with operations and administration. - Understands areas of current and potential organizational risk and makes recommendations including appropriate insurance coverage. - Actively manages any relevant direct third-party contracts and provides consultation and oversight of all organizational contracts and the contracting process including an emphasis on contracts with payers to increase revenues. - Manages the organization’s cash and investments and maintains banking relationships for the organization. - Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). - Actively participates in strategic planning. - Prepares periodic and special financial and statistical reports and provides analysis. - Conducts presentations regarding financial results, status of operating, capital budgets, and cash management. - Develops budgets, prepares grant financial schedules, reviews grant performance and associated reporting requirements. - Prepares the Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports, Federal Financial Status Reports (FSRs), the financial tables in the Uniform Data Set (UDS) report, and other required financial reports while ensuring they are timely, accurate and meet quality standards. - Monitors operational performance of programs. In conjunction with the CEO and COO, initiates corrective action as necessary, resolves conflict, and assists in problem-solving. - Establishes and maintains department records and reports for operational and historical purposes. - Assures compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations - Actively participates in professional development opportunities. - Works collaboratively with leadership, board treasurer, and community partners. - Participates in committees and works groups as needed. - Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions. Education/Training/Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field. - Five years or more of progressive leadership experience. - CPA preferred. - Healthcare finance and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience preferred.
