The client is developing a new business platform designed to respond to the structural transformation of the global visual-content market and is now seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its next phase of development. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Define and execute the company’s strategic roadmap in close collaboration with the consortium founders and shareholders. - Translate the strategic vision into clear operational priorities and measurable objectives. - Establish key milestones, performance indicators and management reporting. - Identify new strategic opportunities and adapt priorities as the market evolves. - Ensure the organisation remains focused on its core growth and value-creation objectives. Commercial Development - Define and execute the company’s commercial and go-to-market strategy. - Develop new revenue streams and identify scalable business opportunities. - Build and strengthen relationships with customers, strategic accounts and commercial partners. - Develop a scalable business model capable of supporting international growth. - Establish the foundations for expansion into new markets. - Build a strong, performance-driven commercial culture across the organisation. Financial Management & Fundraising - Take overall responsibility for financial performance, budgeting, forecasting and cash management. - Establish robust financial reporting and management-control processes. - Prepare and regularly update the company’s business plan and financial projections. - Lead fundraising initiatives in collaboration with founders and shareholders. - Build credible relationships with investors, financial partners and other stakeholders. - Prepare the company for future financing rounds and investor due diligence. - Ensure capital is allocated efficiently and in line with strategic priorities. Technology & Innovation - Work closely with technology leadership to define the product and technology roadmap. - Translate commercial and strategic requirements into clear technology priorities. - Maintain a strong understanding of developments in artificial intelligence, digital platforms and emerging technologies. - Identify technologies capable of improving scalability, efficiency and customer experience. - Ensure technology investments support the company’s long-term competitive positioning. - Encourage innovation while maintaining clear commercial and operational objectives. Building the Organisation - Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary organisation. - Recruit key executives, managers and specialist talent as the company develops. - Define clear roles, responsibilities and performance expectations. - Establish effective management processes and appropriate corporate governance. - Develop a culture combining entrepreneurial agility with professional execution. - Create an organisation capable of scaling internationally without unnecessary bureaucracy. Strategic Partnerships - Develop senior-level relationships across the digital media, technology, creative and cultural ecosystems. - Identify and negotiate strategic commercial and technology partnerships. - Explore opportunities for distribution, content, licensing and international collaboration. - Build relationships capable of accelerating market access and business development. - Represent the company with strategic partners and key industry stakeholders. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate should have the ability to transform an ambitious strategic vision into a scalable international business : - Significant experience as a CEO, Managing Director, General Manager, Founder, senior COO or comparable executive leader. - Ideally 7+ years of senior management or leadership experience . - Demonstrated responsibility for business strategy, financial performance and operational execution. - Experience developing and implementing business plans and growth strategies. - Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash management and financial reporting. - Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building organisations through periods of growth. - Demonstrated commercial and business-development capabilities. - Experience working with founders, shareholders, boards and/or investors. - Exposure to fundraising, financing rounds or investor relations would be particularly valuable. - Experience with digital platforms, technology-enabled businesses or international expansion. - Professional fluency in French and English ; additional languages would be an advantage. Relevant industry backgrounds may include digital media, technology, AI, SaaS, marketplaces, creative industries, photography, digital commerce, licensing, fintech or platform businesses . Experience in the visual-content or stock-image industry would be valuable, but it is not a prerequisite . Location & International Scope The position is based in Lisbon, Portugal, with an international scope. The CEO will work with shareholders, partners and stakeholders across different markets and should be comfortable with international travel when required. Recruitment Process - Initial conversation with the recruitment team at Cabinet D-JP.A. - Executive interviews with the consortium founding members. - Strategic discussion around the business plan and CEO mandate. - Final offer and appointment. Candidates may be asked to provide a perspective on how they would approach the first 12–18 months of execution for the round A shareholders.
