EmoniToronto, ON

We are a fast-growing international fintech company building the next generation of seamless payment solutions. Already registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with FINTRAC and preparing for Bank of Canada (RPAA) supervision, we operate with a lean, agile startup mindset. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on CAMLO / MLRO to lead and scale our Canadian AML/ATF compliance framework from the ground up - without corporate bureaucracy.

What You Will Do

  • Regulatory Ownership: Act as the designated CAMLO/MLRO, serving as the primary liaison with FINTRAC, the Bank of Canada, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Program Architecture: Build, maintain, and continuously refine our AML/CTF policies, risk assessment frameworks, and transaction monitoring protocols tailored to Canadian law.
  • Reporting & Audits: Oversee mandatory statutory reporting (STRs, LCTRs, LVTRs), maintain audit-ready documentation, and manage independent compliance reviews.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to embed compliant, friction-free AML checks into our core payment products.
  • Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Stay ahead of evolving regulatory shifts (PCMLTFA updates, Bank of Canada RPAA guidelines) and proactively adapt our internal controls.

What You Bring

  • Canadian Expertise: 3–5+ years of direct AML/Compliance experience within the Canadian financial ecosystem (Fintech, MSB, Payments, or Neobanking).
  • Deep Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the PCMLTFA, FINTRAC guidelines, and emerging Bank of Canada frameworks.
  • Certifications: CAMS or CFCS designation is highly desirable.
  • Startup Mindset: Highly pragmatic and execution-oriented - you know how to build effective compliance controls in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Work Authorization: Must currently reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada (Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid Work Permit).

What We Offer

  • Benefits Package
  • Work-Life Balance & Flexibility
  • Impact & Ownership: High autonomy to build a compliance program your way in an international scaling environment.
