Chief Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join the Finance team at Marriott Hotel Production City, Dubai. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting experience within a 5-star hotel, preferably with UAE experience and exposure to Marriott or another international hotel brand.

The Chief Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end closing, reconciliations, internal controls, and compliance with company and hotel finance policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records.
• Supervise the Accounts team and allocate daily responsibilities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial schedules.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Review general ledger, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Income Audit functions.
• Review hotel revenue, expenses, payments, and daily financial transactions.
• Conduct bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and applicable accounting and tax requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide required financial information and supporting documents.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with hotel and company finance policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, variances, and areas requiring management attention.
• Work closely with the General Manager, Financial Controller, and other department heads on financial matters.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with Marriott standards, internal controls, and applicable UAE regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a 5-star hotel.
• UAE hotel accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Marriott or another international hotel brand will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of UAE VAT and accounting regulations.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems and ERP software.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience supervising or leading an accounting team.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Profile

• Candidates currently working in a 5-star hotel in the UAE.
• Candidates with experience in Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Accor, IHG, or other international hotel groups.
• Strong understanding of hotel revenue, night audit, income audit, payables, receivables, and general ledger functions.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
