Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) , as required for a Level 2 Hospital. Preferably with relevant experience in hospital or healthcare accounting . Knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting, taxation, bank reconciliation, and government statutory requirements. Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/software. Job Summary The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, proper management of accounting transactions, preparation and monitoring of budgets, payroll-related accounting, tax compliance, account reconciliation, and timely submission of required government reports and remittances. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise the overall operations of the Accounting Department and its personnel. Review and approve daily petty cash transactions and ensure that all transactions are valid and supported by complete and proper documentation. Conduct periodic inventory of used and unused checks for all depository banks. Monitor inventory accounts and ensure that there are no negative balances. Ensure the timely preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules. Prepare comparative Trial Balances from the BizBox system against Excel-based Trial Balances and make necessary adjusting entries. Prepare and submit Trial Balance and other required financial schedules to the external auditor. Perform monthly closing of the books of accounts in BizBox. Prepare periodic Bank Reconciliation Statements for BDO, RCBC, Metrobank, Landbank, PNB, Chinabank, and UnionBank. Perform monthly reconciliation and clean-up of: Accounts Receivable – PCSO and PhilHealth Accounts Payable – Clearing Accounts Payable – Clearing and Accounts Payable – Others Supervise and ensure the timely submission of periodic reports and remittances to various government agencies and ensure compliance with prescribed deadlines. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of accounting records and transactions. Assist management in financial analysis, budgeting, and other accounting-related requirements. Coordinate with external auditors, banks, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties that may be assigned by management.
