BDIL is now firmly aligned with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India vision , aspiring to play a leading role in indigenous defence manufacturing, shipbuilding, and allied infrastructure projects Job Summary We are looking for a Qualified Chartered Accountant to lead financial planning, controls, treasury, and contract finance for the group. As Finance Leader , you will be responsible for group-wide financial consolidation, budgeting and MIS, treasury and working capital management across long-gestation defence contracts, and costing and pricing discipline for defence-sector bids and tenders. The role requires strong command over financial controls appropriate to a listed entity, along with the ability to partner closely with Sales and Technical leadership on contract finance. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Planning, Reporting & Controls ● Lead group consolidation across all legal entities and business verticals. ● Build robust budgeting, forecasting, and MIS capability across the group. ● Strengthen internal financial controls and audit readiness appropriate to a listed entity. ● Oversee statutory and internal audit relationships. 2. Treasury & Working Capital ● Manage working capital across long-gestation defence contracts and manufacturing cycles. ● Own banking relationships, credit facilities, and, where relevant, export credit and forex exposure. ● Manage cash flow and liquidity across group entities. 3. Costing, Pricing & Contract Finance ● Build costing discipline for defence-sector contracts, including cost-plus and fixed-price government contracts. ● Partner with Sales and Technical leadership on bid and tender pricing. ● Navigate GST, customs, and sector-specific tax considerations relevant to defence manufacturing and exports. Required Qualifications ● Qualified Chartered Accountant with substantial post-qualification experience in a finance leadership capacity. ● Prior experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, or defence-sector finance is highly preferred. ● Experience with listed-entity financial controls, statutory compliance, and audit processes. ● Proven ability to manage treasury, working capital, and banking relationships independently. Skills & Competencies ● Strong understanding of group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting. ● Working knowledge of costing and pricing for cost-plus and fixed-price government/defence contracts. ● Sound knowledge of GST, customs, and taxation relevant to manufacturing and exports. ● Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills. ● Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail under regulatory and audit scrutiny. ● Ability to operate independently at a senior leadership level. ● High level of integrity, ownership, and sound commercial judgment.
