Catering Sales & Customer Management Assistant Overview Boston Catering & Events is seeking an outgoing, organized and sales-driven Catering Sales & Customer Management Assistant to support our Corporate Catering Sales Department. The primary focus of this position is customer relationship management, outbound sales and increasing repeat corporate catering business . The Sales Assistant will actively manage our existing customer database through TPP, identifying weekly, biweekly, monthly, and inactive catering clients and proactively contacting them to generate repeat orders and new catering opportunities. This is a proactive sales position . The successful candidate should be comfortable spending a significant portion of the day on the phone developing relationships, following up with clients, and asking for their business. Responsibilities & Job Duties Customer Management & Outbound Sales Actively manage and work the existing customer database within TPP. Contact weekly, biweekly, and monthly corporate catering clients based on their historical ordering patterns. Proactively call clients ahead of their anticipated ordering dates to secure upcoming catering orders. Develop relationships with existing corporate clients and identify opportunities to increase ordering frequency and order size. Re-engage clients who have not ordered recently and identify opportunities to win back their business. Conduct outbound calls and email campaigns to develop new corporate catering accounts. Follow up on corporate inquiries, quotes, and open opportunities. Promote seasonal menus, holiday catering, meetings, employee events, and other BCE catering services to existing customers. Identify opportunities to convert occasional customers into recurring corporate accounts. Maintain accurate notes, follow-up dates, reminders, and customer activity in TPP. Develop and maintain a scheduled call list based on client ordering frequency. Meet established weekly outbound call, follow-up, and sales goals. Sales Department Support Support Catering Sales Managers with client follow-up and account management. Provide customer service coverage when a Catering Sales Manager is out of the office. Respond to routine corporate catering inquiries and assist clients with established drop-off catering orders. Enter and maintain accurate customer and order information in TPP. Assist with basic revisions and administrative updates as directed by the Catering Sales Manager. Escalate significant event changes, pricing questions, and full-service event requirements to the appropriate Sales Manager. Assist with incoming calls and appropriately qualify new corporate catering opportunities. Sales Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate records of outbound calls, emails, follow-ups, and client responses. Track recurring clients and upcoming ordering opportunities. Submit weekly and monthly activity reports. Track clients who have decreased or stopped ordering and initiate re-engagement efforts. Report customer feedback, service concerns, and potential lost accounts promptly. Work with Sales Management to identify opportunities for increased corporate revenue. Candidate Attributes 1–3 years of catering, hospitality, inside sales, customer service or business development experience preferred. Comfortable and confident making a high volume of outbound sales calls. Strong relationship-building and customer-service skills. Sales-minded with the ability to recognize opportunities and ask for the order. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized with strong follow-up and time-management skills. Ability to manage a recurring customer call schedule and multiple follow-up deadlines. Experience working with CRM/customer management software preferred; TPP experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Catering or food-service knowledge is strongly preferred. Professional and polished communication skills. Compensation: Hourly plus commission.
