Job Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of off-premise catering events from planning through completion. This position manages event logistics, staffing, food and equipment transportation, setup and breakdown, client service, and operational standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple events, teams, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities : Oversee daily catering operations and ensure events are executed efficiently, professionally, and according to company standards. Coordinate all operational details for off-premise events, including staffing, transportation, equipment, food, rentals, setup, service, and breakdown. Review event orders and production sheets to ensure all event requirements are understood and properly communicated. Develop staffing plans and schedules based on event size, service style, location, and operational needs. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate catering staff, servers, bartenders, captains, porters, and event support personnel. Lead event teams onsite and serve as the primary operations contact for staff, vendors, venues, and clients when required. Collaborate with the warehouse manager to ensure food, beverage, equipment, décor, and supplies are accurately loaded, transported, delivered, and returned. Collaborate with the warehouse manager to establish and maintain efficient systems for loading vehicles, inventory control, equipment organization, and event breakdown. Monitor labor costs, overtime, product usage, and operational expenses while maintaining service quality. Coordinate with culinary, sales, event planning, and administrative teams to ensure seamless communication and execution. Troubleshoot event-day issues and make quick, professional decisions when unexpected challenges arise. Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, personal appearance, customer service, and workplace safety. Conduct post-event reviews and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest experience. Manage relationships with venues, rental companies, staffing agencies, transportation providers, and other operational partners. Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure all company vehicles, catering equipment, tools, and supplies are properly maintained and accounted for. Assist with forecasting operational needs and developing procedures that support company growth. Attend menu meetings, sales meetings, and production meetings as scheduled Attend networking events Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Skills and Traits for Success: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and reliable follow through A customer-centered approach to hospitality Knowledge of current industry trends Strong creative, presentation, and problem-solving skills Creative skills to provide innovative solutions and strong presentation skills Ability to work collaboratively with staff, vendors, and cross-functional teams Experience working with Microsoft Office, Tripleseat, Canva,7shifts, Gmail, Google Docs or similar programs a plus Required Education/Experience: Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in catering, hospitality, events, restaurant operations, or a related field. Previous management or supervisory experience. Experience with off-premise catering and event execution strongly preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure. Strong understanding of staffing, event logistics, and customer service. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving company vehicles is required. Food safety certification such as ServSafe is preferred. Ability to lift and move catering equipment and supplies, typically up to 50 lbs.
