Care Operations / Area Manager
Care Operations Manager Together Livin Full-Time | Permanent Adult Social Care – Supported Living & Community-Based Services Together Livin is looking for an experienced and highly capable Care Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across our adult social care services. This is a senior operational role for someone with a strong background in regulated care who can oversee multiple services, support and challenge service managers and team leaders, maintain high standards of care, and ensure services remain safe, effective, compliant and person-centred. We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously been a successful CQC Registered Manager, Area Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent and can demonstrate an excellent track record within adult social care. The Role As Care Operations Manager, you will have oversight of multiple services and work closely with the senior management team to ensure consistently high standards across the organisation. You will provide visible leadership to managers and frontline teams, monitor service performance and compliance, and take ownership of operational issues requiring senior management input. Key responsibilities will include: Providing operational oversight across multiple supported living and community-based care services. Leading, supporting and holding Service Managers, Team Leaders and other operational staff accountable for the quality of their services. Ensuring services operate safely and in accordance with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act, safeguarding requirements and company policies and procedures. Driving a strong culture of person-centred care, dignity, choice, independence and positive risk-taking. Monitoring service quality through audits, observations, spot checks, care record reviews and other quality assurance processes. Identifying areas of concern and implementing clear improvement and action plans. Maintaining strong oversight of safeguarding concerns, incidents, accidents, complaints and significant events. Ensuring risk assessments, care plans, PBS plans and associated documentation accurately reflect individuals' current needs. Supporting services caring for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge. Ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained and working with managers to address recruitment, retention, absence and performance issues. Monitoring staff training, competency, supervision and development. Supporting managers with complex employee relations and operational matters. Working collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, health professionals, families, advocates and other external professionals. Supporting new referrals, assessments, transitions and the mobilisation of new care packages and services. Ensuring services remain commercially and operationally sustainable without compromising quality of care. Reviewing operational KPIs and reporting performance, risks and improvement actions to senior management. Supporting CQC inspections, commissioner monitoring visits and internal governance processes. Promoting continuous improvement and sharing good practice across all services. Participating in the senior/on-call management structure where required. Essential Requirements Applicants must have: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, equivalent qualification or a relevant higher-level qualification. Significant management experience within adult social care. Experience of overseeing multiple care services, or substantial experience as a successful CQC Registered Manager with an excellent track record. Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and the Fundamental Standards. Demonstrable experience of maintaining and improving quality and compliance within regulated services. Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing complex safeguarding and risk situations. Experience managing and developing managers, senior staff and frontline care teams. Experience of auditing services and implementing measurable improvement plans. A good understanding of person-centred care, Positive Behaviour Support and supporting people with complex needs. Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills. The ability to remain organised and effective while overseeing multiple competing operational priorities. Confidence working with commissioners, health professionals, social workers, families and other stakeholders. Strong IT and care-recording skills. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between services as required. Desirable We would particularly welcome applicants with: Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager with a strong inspection/compliance history. Area Manager, Regional Manager or Operations Manager experience. Experience within supported living services. Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex mental health needs and behaviours of concern. Experience mobilising new services and complex care packages. Experience working with Positive Behaviour Support frameworks. Higher-level leadership, management or health and social care qualifications. The Person We're Looking For This role requires someone who is comfortable being visible and hands-on within services. You should be equally confident reviewing an audit, challenging a manager about performance, meeting a social worker or commissioner, and spending time within a service understanding what is actually happening for the people we support. We are looking for someone who sets high standards but also understands how to develop teams to achieve them. You will need to be proactive rather than reactive, identify potential problems before they become significant issues, and have the confidence to make decisions and take ownership when services require additional support. Most importantly, you must share our commitment to providing care and support that we would be happy for our own families to receive. What We Offer A senior and influential position within a growing care organisation. The opportunity to shape and develop services rather than simply maintain existing systems. Support from an experienced senior management team. Ongoing professional development and training. Opportunities for further progression as the organisation continues to grow. If you are an experienced adult social care manager with a strong regulatory track record and are ready to progress into a wider operational leadership role, we would like to hear from you.
