Carbon Data Analyst

Nero Carbon Ltd · London

# Carbon Data Analyst **Nero Carbon Ltd** · London · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role - Location: Clerkenwell, London - Salary: £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience - Job type: Full-time Please note that applications without a cover letter will not be considered . Who we are Nero Carbon Ltd (Nero) helps organisations measure, report and reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Our job is to make carbon reporting simpler, clearer and more impactful — and close to 100 organisations, from small businesses to multi-site manufacturing groups, trust us to do it. Each year we calculate around two million tonnes of emissions using our own cloud-based carbon calculator, built to the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 and independently verified. Clients see their results through interactive emissions dashboards alongside formal, standards-aligned reports. You’ll work with the platform every day and help shape how it develops. Where you fit in We’re looking for someone with at least two years of relevant experience who enjoys working with data as much as they care about the climate. You’ll bring a good understanding of carbon accounting and a confident, curious approach to data, and we’ll help you build on both. The role is mainly data-focused: collecting, analysing and interpreting emissions data, and making sure our clients’ figures are accurate and well explained. You’ll also work directly with clients, helping them understand what we need, talking through their results and joining client meetings, and contribute to carbon reduction strategies as your experience grows. We offer a flexible working culture, but as a small team we value time together and the collaboration that happens in person, so you’ll spend at least three days a week in our Clerkenwell office. What you’ll do day to day - Collect, organise and quality-check client activity data, noting data quality, gaps and assumptions along the way. - Carry out GHG calculations, applying the appropriate emission factors and reporting approach. - Compare results year on year, understand what lies behind any changes and explain them clearly to colleagues, clients and verifiers. - Help prepare evidence for independent verification and respond to verifier queries. - Analyse and interpret carbon data, identify trends and hotspots, and contribute to clear, accurate client reports. - Liaise with clients to request information and resolve queries and join client meetings to talk through findings in a clear, accessible way. - Contribute to tailored emissions reduction strategies and recommendations for clients. - Keep clear records of methods and assumptions, and contribute ideas to improve our platform, dashboards and reporting. What you’ll bring ESSENTIAL - At least two years of relevant professional experience in carbon accounting, sustainability consultancy, environmental data or a closely related analytical role. - Good working knowledge of carbon accounting, particularly the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1. - Strong Excel skills with confidence working with large and complex datasets. - Excellent attention to detail, good analytical problem-solving skills and an instinct for checking that numbers make sense. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings simply. - A proactive, organised approach, with the ability to manage several projects at once and to work both independently and as part of a team. - A degree in an environmental or scientific discipline or equivalent experience. - A genuine interest in climate change and sustainability. NICE TO HAVE We don’t expect all of these, and we’ll support you to learn. - Experience with dashboard or data visualisation tools, cloud-based data platforms, SQL or Python. - Experience of independent verification or assurance of GHG inventories. - Experience contributing to carbon reduction plans, net zero strategies or SBTi target setting. - SECR, CDP, EcoVadis or PPN 06/21 reporting experience. Why join Nero - A competitive salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience. - Hands-on experience across the whole carbon reporting cycle — calculate, support, report and disclose — for a varied mix of clients and sectors. - A supportive team where your ideas are welcomed and there are real opportunities to grow. - 25 days of holidays, plus statutory bank holidays. - Dedicated employee training and development budget. How to apply Send your CV and a cover letter to jobs@nero-carbon.com . Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. We review applications on a rolling basis and may close the role early if we receive a high volume of strong applications. We’re an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and are committed to an inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone. Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
