Canvasser — Northwest Side, Chicago Location: Northwest Side, Chicago, IL (Belmont Cragin, Logan Square, and Irving Park) Pay: $25/hour Type: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal Start Date: September 7 About the Program This program focuses on increasing voter participation and engagement in Pilsen, Little Village, and the surrounding neighborhoods, and ensuring that every voice in the community is heard. At Solidarity Strategies, we are committed to electing Democrats and driving progressive change through grassroots organizing and one-on-one conversations with voters. About the Role We're hiring passionate, outgoing, and reliable canvassers to join our field team in Pilsen and Little Village. As a canvasser, you will speak directly with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign, and collect important data using tools like MiniVAN. This turf is predominantly Spanish-speaking, and most of your conversations will happen in Spanish. We're looking for canvassers who can move comfortably between English and Spanish and who understand the community they're talking to. This is an entry-level position — no prior experience required. Paid training will be provided. Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available. What You'll Do Go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods Talk with voters in English and Spanish and share information about the campaign Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN Submit daily reports and check in with your supervisor Represent the campaign and its values professionally Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers What We're Looking For Fluent, conversational Spanish and the confidence to run a full voter conversation in it Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people Comfort speaking with mixed-language and multigenerational households Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation Roots in or familiarity with Pilsen, Little Village, or the surrounding area is a strong plus Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning Requirements Must be 18 years or older Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Authorized to work in the U.S. Must have a smartphone with mobile data Reliable transportation to and from your assigned turf — CTA, rideshare, bike, or personal vehicle all work Flexible availability: 12+ hours per week Why Join Us $25/hour starting pay Flexible scheduling with multiple shifts available Paid training — no experience necessary Work with a supportive, mission-driven team Make a direct impact on electing Democrats and empowering your community
