The cafe & market proudly serves fresh-baked pastries, specialty coffee beverages, a small-batch locally sourced menu, and ice cream daily. Position: We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Café Operations Manager who is excited to help lead a growing, family-owned business and create an exceptional experience for both our customers and our team. This role works closely and collaboratively with our Kitchen Manager to lead the Café & Market as one unified operation. While each manager has distinct areas of primary responsibility, they will plan together, communicate closely, support one another, and share responsibility for the success of the team and the business. We are looking for two leaders who can step in for one another when needed rather than operate in separate silos. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who wants to take real ownership of the Café & Market, work collaboratively with our Kitchen Manager and ownership team, and help us continue building something special. Role Overview Job Summary: Oversee the daily business, service standards, and staff performance of our cafe & market. Core Focus: Creating a high-service, high-quality experience for our customers while balancing labor costs, food waste, and ticket times. Position Needs: Willingness to be hands-on, flexible, and weekend availability. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations: Manage opening and closing procedures, maintain cleanliness standards, and ensure high quality in food and beverage preparation. Staff Management: Hire, train, schedule, and mentor baristas while driving a positive team culture. Inventory & Ordering: Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and supplies, and control waste to stay within budget. Financial & Admin: Handle point-of-sale (POS) reconciliation, track daily sales, and report performance metrics to ownership. Compliance: Enforce local health, safety, and sanitation codes. Customer Service: Address guest feedback and foster local community loyalty. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 2 to 3 years of food and beverage or hospitality management experience Skills: Strong leadership, basic financial literacy (profit and loss), and familiarity with POS software (ideally Square).
