Build. Excel. West Lafayette, IN | Hybrid | Full-Time Build the Design Production Team Behind Complex Projects Summit EPC is looking for a CAD Manager to lead and elevate our design production function as we continue to grow across commercial, manufacturing, food processing, and light industrial markets. This role combines hands-on CAD and BIM expertise with team leadership, workflow management, quality control, and the opportunity to build the systems that increase production capacity and consistency across our projects. You will lead a team of junior and senior CAD designers while taking ownership of the standards, technology, processes, and quality expectations behind Summit's design production. AutoCAD remains a core platform, with Revit and BIM-based workflows playing an increasingly important role in how we design, coordinate, and deliver projects. About the Role As CAD Manager, you will be responsible for building a high-performing production team capable of delivering accurate, coordinated, constructible documents efficiently and consistently. You will work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, preconstruction, and construction leaders to make sure design production supports both project execution and the continued growth of Summit EPC. · Lead and develop the CAD team: Manage, mentor, and develop junior and senior CAD designers while establishing clear expectations for quality, productivity, accountability, and professional growth. · Own CAD and BIM technology: Optimize AutoCAD and Revit platforms, templates, libraries, standards, tools, and production practices. Help evaluate and implement technology that improves coordination and efficiency. · Set design production standards: Create and maintain standards for drawing organization, file management, templates, details, modeling practices, documentation, and cross-project consistency. · Drive QA/QC: Establish practical review processes and ensure drawing packages meet Summit standards for accuracy, coordination, constructability, and completeness before release. · Manage workflow and capacity: Balance priorities, schedules, deadlines, and team resources across multiple active projects while identifying bottlenecks and proactively shifting work as needed. · Increase production efficiency: Standardize repeatable work, improve workflows, reduce rework, and identify opportunities for automation and better use of CAD, Revit, BIM, and related design tools. · Coordinate multidisciplinary production: Support coordination across architectural, structural, engineering, equipment, and construction requirements so design packages work together in the field. · Strengthen design development and construction documents: Help translate project concepts into coordinated, value-added drawing packages that support estimating, permitting, procurement, and construction. · Advance Revit and BIM capabilities: Help Summit continue moving toward more integrated 3D modeling, BIM coordination, and technology-enabled project delivery. · Build a scalable production function: Develop training, documentation, processes, and team capability that allow Summit to increase production capacity without sacrificing quality. This is a hands-on leadership role. You should be equally comfortable reviewing a drawing set, solving a production problem, improving an AutoCAD or Revit workflow, coaching a designer, or working with project leadership to determine how design resources should be deployed. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who combines strong technical CAD expertise with the ability to lead people, improve systems, and raise the performance of an entire design production team. · 8+ years of CAD, BIM, architectural, engineering, or construction design production experience · Advanced AutoCAD proficiency and a strong understanding of efficient CAD setup, standards, templates, file organization, and production workflows · Strong working knowledge of Revit, with the ability to help expand and optimize its use across the organization · Experience leading CAD designers, BIM technicians, design production staff, or similar technical teams · Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards, templates, libraries, drawing conventions, and production processes · Strong understanding of construction documents, drawing coordination, constructability, and QA/QC · Experience managing multiple projects, competing priorities, deadlines, and production resources · Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, project managers, estimators, and construction teams · Experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, food processing or related project environments preferred · Experience with Navisworks, BIM coordination, 3D modeling, or related design technologies is a plus · Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Architecture, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred Most importantly, you see CAD and BIM as more than production tools. You understand how technology, standards, workflow, training, and leadership come together to create a scalable, high-quality design operation. Why Summit EPC? Our design professionals work directly alongside preconstruction, project management, and construction teams in an integrated design-build environment.
