The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and commercially minded Business Relationship Manager to join Planterra Business Group and play a key role in developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships across the property, construction, planning and environmental sectors. This is a relationship-focused role for someone who enjoys meeting people, developing professional networks and identifying opportunities to introduce the right Planterra service to the right client. You will build and maintain strong working relationships with organisations and professionals including: Estate agents Developers and property professionals Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) specialists Architects Planning consultants Ecological consultants Wildlife Trusts and environmental organisations As part of the role, you will visit potential customers at their offices, representing Planterra in a professional and knowledgeable manner. The successful candidate will become an important link between Planterra and the professional networks that influence property development, land management, environmental projects and future opportunities. Key Responsibilities Relationship Development Develop and maintain strong, long-term professional relationships with key industry contacts. Build a network of contacts across estate agencies, architects, planning consultancies, BNG specialists, developers, environmental organisations and other relevant businesses. Arrange and attend face-to-face meetings with potential and existing clients. Regularly visit prospective customers at their offices to understand their requirements and introduce Planterra's capabilities. Maintain regular communication with key contacts to identify new opportunities and remain front of mind. Business Development Identify new business opportunities across the Group's specialist services. Research potential clients, projects and organisations where Planterra could provide value. Generate new leads through networking, referrals, meetings, and proactive outreach. Develop opportunities from initial contact through to handover to the appropriate Planterra company or technical team. Work closely with the senior management and Director to ensure opportunities are followed up effectively. Understand the needs of clients and identify which Planterra specialist company or service is best placed to support them. Help develop strategic partnerships and referral relationships with complementary businesses. Industry Networking A key part of the role will be developing Planterra's presence within sectors that influence land development, environmental management and property. You will be expected to establish productive relationships with organisations and professionals such as: Property & Development Estate agents Property developers Land agents Property consultants Planning & Design Architects Planning consultants Development consultants Landscape architects Ecology & Environment BNG specialists Ecological consultants Wildlife Trusts Conservation organisations Environmental consultants You will help position Planterra as a trusted specialist partner that these organisations can confidently recommend to their clients. Working Pattern This is a Monday to Friday, predominantly relationship and business development-focused position. The role will involve a mixture of: Office-based work Visiting potential customers at their offices Face-to-face client meetings Site visits where appropriate Telephone and video meetings Research and follow-up activity . What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is naturally confident, personable and commercially aware. You may already have experience in business development, account management, sales, relationship management, property, construction, landscaping, ecology, environmental services or a related sector. However, industry knowledge is not the only thing that matters. We are particularly interested in someone who can build genuine professional relationships and understands that successful business development is about trust, consistency and providing value. Professional and personable approach. Commercially aware with an ability to identify opportunities. Organised and capable of managing multiple relationships and opportunities. Proactive and self-motivated. Comfortable making initial contact with new organisations. Confident attending meetings Able to represent Planterra professionally. Strong follow-up skills. Full UK driving licence. Maintain strong relationships with existing contacts. Identify upcoming developments and projects where Planterra can provide specialist support.
