We continue to stay committed to enhancing and embedding resilience as a capability throughout the Bank, via a comprehensive approach which encompasses 3 key pillars: Resilience, Resolvability and Crisis Management. Operational Resilience ensures the safeguarding of the Bank’s critical business services and their supporting resources, ensuring they can function effectively during adverse events. Resolvability ensures the Bank can maintain continuity of critical operations and access to services in the event of severe stress or resolution, in line with regulatory expectations. Crisis Management provides the structures, capabilities, and coordination required to respond decisively to incidents, protect stakeholders, and stabilise the Bank during periods of heightened uncertainty. As a collective, these pillars support regulatory compliance, protect stakeholders, and reinforce the Bank’s reputation as a trusted and reliable institution. Group Resilience plays a pivotal role in supporting the Bank by implementing robust frameworks, monitoring risks, and maintaining compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. Through proactive planning, rigorous testing, and continuous improvement, we help to ensure the Bank remains resilient and well-positioned to serve our customers and stakeholders. The Business Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Group Resilience business management function. The role owns the operating rhythm, governance discipline, financial and workforce management routines, management reporting, communications and follow-through across the function. The role holder will translate Group Resilience priorities into clear plans, actions and deliverables; maintain disciplined business management routines; coordinate inputs across Group Resilience and partner teams; and ensure timely, accurate and decision-ready information is available to support the Strategy, Governance & Change agenda. The role will act as the central point of coordination for business management activities, ensuring priorities are tracked, dependencies are surfaced, risks are escalated and agreed actions are closed. Key Responsibilities Support the Strategy & Business Management team in developing, refreshing and tracking Group Resilience strategic priorities, business plans and management actions. Assist in translating strategic priorities into clear deliverables, milestones, action plans and governance routines. Support the ongoing evolution of the Group Resilience operating model, including workforce, location, capability and service delivery considerations. Prepare clear, concise and high-quality briefings, updates and presentation materials for senior stakeholders, governance forums and management meetings. Track progress against agreed strategic priorities, ensuring actions, risks and dependencies are captured and escalated where required. Own the day-to-day operation of the Group Resilience business management agenda, ensuring the function has a clear operating rhythm, forward plan and delivery cadence. Manage the Group Resilience operating rhythm, including management meetings, leadership updates, planning cycles, engagement forums and key business deliverables. Maintain a consolidated view of priorities, actions, decisions, dependencies and follow-ups, ensuring timely closure and escalation where required. Lead the preparation of executive-level communications for senior stakeholders, the Group Resilience function and wider Bank audiences. Drive consistency and discipline across business management activities, including documentation, stakeholder coordination, reporting and follow-through. Coordinate inputs from Group Resilience pillars and partner teams to support effective planning, prioritisation and execution. Manage core business management processes across Group Resilience, including financial tracking, headcount management, workforce planning, governance reporting, management information and business performance updates. Maintain accurate, timely and actionable information to support leadership decisions, prioritisation and performance oversight. Own the preparation and tracking of budgets, forecasts, headcount plans, workforce movements and related management updates, working with Finance, HR and Workforce Management teams. Establish and maintain clear routines, templates, trackers and controls to ensure business management activities are consistently executed. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and strengthen business management routines, controls and reporting processes. Ensure business management processes are documented, repeatable and aligned to agreed governance and control expectations. Manage business management inputs for workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, capability tracking, talent discussions and team engagement activities. Coordinate people-related MI, workforce insights and management actions, ensuring updates are accurate, timely and aligned with Group Resilience priorities. Support the leadership team in maintaining visibility of workforce movements, open roles, location footprint, capability gaps and engagement actions. Provide coordination and guidance to colleagues contributing to business management activities, without direct people management accountability unless specifically assigned. Support the identification, tracking and escalation of risks, issues, dependencies and control matters. Ensure management information is accurate, balanced and transparent to enable timely decision-making and appropriate risk-based prioritisation. Monitor open actions, issues and dependencies, ensuring ownership, timelines and escalation paths are clear. Act promptly where risks or control weaknesses are identified, supporting appropriate follow-up and escalation through relevant forums. Help ensure business management activities are delivered in line with the Bank’s risk, control and conduct expectations. Own the coordination and operation of effective governance routines across Group Resilience, ensuring meetings, materials, decisions, actions and escalations are managed with discipline. Lead the preparation of governance materials that are clear, evidence-based, action-oriented and aligned to agreed standards. Maintain the forward agenda, action log and decision record for key Group Resilience management routines, ensuring follow-through is visible and timely. Support effective challenge and transparency by ensuring decisions, actions, risks and dependencies are appropriately documented and tracked. Demonstrate awareness of the regulatory environment in which the Bank operates and the relevance of operational resilience expectations to Group Resilience activities. Support a consistent communications and engagement agenda across the function, ensuring colleagues are informed of priorities, changes, decisions and progress. Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. English proficiency in both communication and writing. Minimum 5 years relevant experience in business management, strategy, governance, COO office, change management, programme management or a related role within financial services, consulting or a similarly complex organisation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and senior stakeholder-ready materials. Good analytical capability, with the ability to translate data, management information and stakeholder inputs into practical insights, actions and recommendations. Experience supporting financial management, headcount tracking, workforce planning, governance forums, management reporting or operating rhythm management. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate stakeholders and maintain disciplined follow-through. Ability to build trusted relationships across senior stakeholders, peers and delivery teams in a matrixed environment. Comfortable operating with ambiguity, applying judgement and escalating issues appropriately. High attention to detail, proactive mindset and strong ownership of agreed deliverables. Knowledge of operational resilience, risk management, regulatory environments or banking governance would be advantageous.
