We are looking for an experienced, organised and commercially minded Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our operations. This is a hands-on management position for someone who can coordinate multiple projects, manage teams and subcontractors, maintain high standards and ensure work is completed efficiently and profitably. The successful candidate will be trusted to make day-to-day operational decisions, resolve problems independently and ensure projects run smoothly without constant director involvement. Key responsibilities - Oversee the day-to-day running of refurbishment and maintenance operations. - Manage employees, subcontractors and site teams. - Schedule labour and coordinate multiple projects. - Ensure materials, equipment and resources are available when required. - Monitor project progress, quality, budgets and deadlines. - Deal with clients, suppliers and subcontractors professionally. - Resolve operational issues and minimise delays. - Ensure health and safety procedures and relevant documentation are maintained. - Monitor job costs, variations and project profitability. - Implement systems and procedures to improve efficiency. - Provide regular operational and financial performance reports to the company director. Essential experience - Previous experience managing refurbishment, construction or property maintenance operations. - Strong organisational and leadership skills. - Experience managing tradespeople and subcontractors. - Commercial awareness and the ability to control project costs. - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - The ability to work independently, take responsibility and make sound decisions. - A full UK driving licence. You should be confident managing people, coordinating multiple jobs and being accountable for the overall performance of the operation.
