Business Development & Operations Manager
Business Development & Operations Manager Full-time | Office-based | Wimbledon, London | International Travel £40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience Help Build the Transformation of a Global Industry XpoFairs is redefining trade shows for the digital generation. Just as online shopping has transformed retail, our technology is changing how businesses exhibit, connect and trade - globally, efficiently and at scale. Our proprietary platform has already powered our first online trade shows, and we are now moving into the next stage: building and scaling an international portfolio across multiple industries and markets. Our ambition is to expand across multiple industries, countries and specialist sectors, building XpoFairs into a significant international digital trade-show business. Our current and developing shows include the UK Gift Fair, USA Gift Fair, China Sourcing Show and future Sourcing Shows. These represent some of the first markets and sectors we have chosen to develop, with substantial scope to expand further as the business grows. We are now looking for an exceptional Business Development & Operations Manager to join us at an early stage and work closely with the founders in helping build the business. This is an opportunity for an ambitious, commercially minded and highly proactive individual who wants more than simply their next job - someone who wants to help create something, take real responsibility and grow as the company grows. The Role This is a broad, hands-on position spanning business development, partnerships, operations and project execution. You will help identify, drive and develop new commercial opportunities, build relationships with trade associations, industry bodies and international partners, research new markets, coordinate projects and help drive and lead a young team. Take ownership of customer onboarding and ongoing liaison, ensuring a smooth customer experience and that key operational deadlines are met in the build-up to, opening and delivery of each show. AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how we work. We want someone who is interested in technology and understands how to use AI and other tools practically and intelligently - where they genuinely save time, reduce costs or improve results. Above all, we are looking for someone who sees what needs doing and makes it happen. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone bright, ambitious, highly organised, commercially minded and relentlessly proactive. · Have a consistently high level of academic achievement and the ability to assimilate new information quickly. · Have several years of relevant commercial, business development, operations or project experience. · Be outgoing, engaging and confident developing new relationships. · Have excellent organisation and follow-through. · Be resourceful and comfortable tackling things you haven't encountered before. · Bring solutions and recommendations rather than simply identifying problems. · Have the energy and personality to motivate and help develop a relatively young team. · Be resilient and enjoy working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment. · Have outstanding professional written and spoken English. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience in business development, partnerships, international trade, digital businesses, exhibitions, marketplaces or early-stage companies would all be relevant. Mandarin Chinese would be a significant advantage, but is not essential. Knowledge of digital marketing, social media and online campaigns would also be advantageous. What Have You Built? We're particularly interested in people who have built something. That could be team, division, new market, project, sales pipeline, partnership network, system or process. What matters is that you can explain what you personally made happen and what changed as a result. Why Join Now? XpoFairs is still at an early stage, giving the right person an unusual opportunity to contribute to how the company develops. We have ambitious international growth plans, expect eventually to establish operations in key overseas markets and anticipate seeking external investment to accelerate our growth. Every day will bring new challenges, fresh opportunities, and the reward of knowing your work directly impacts the company’s success. It’s fun, fast, and full of possibility. For an exceptional individual, this position has the potential to develop into significant senior management and leadership responsibility as the company grows. For someone who proves themselves, believes strongly in what we are building and wants to commit to the journey, we would also be open to considering long-term incentives linked to the success of the business. This is a full-time, office-based position at our Wimbledon office. International travel may form part of the role as XpoFairs develops. If you are ambitious, proactive and excited by the opportunity to help build an international company, we'd like to hear from you. salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience To apply: Please send your CV and a brief cover note/letter outlining why you believe you would be an ideal candidate for the role to people@xpofairs.com Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year Application question(s): How many current and developing XpoFairs shows are specifically named in this job advert?
