You will find new opportunities and close them yourself, with minimal supervision. You will meet founders, CTOs and CIOs at fintech companies, lenders, insurers and wealth platforms, show them relevant work, and help shape the right solution and commercial plan. Define and refine the ideal customer profile (ICP) for Financial Services, including target segments, filters, buying triggers and exclusions. Build target account lists using Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo or similar tools. Run outbound campaigns through email, LinkedIn, calls and planned follow ups, and write your own messaging. Hold discovery calls with founders, CTOs, CIOs and Heads of Engineering to understand the business need before proposing a solution. Present our capabilities through reference architectures, past projects, demos and case studies. Work with presales and solution architects on the solution approach, delivery plan, phasing and pricing. Manage Financial Services due diligence, including security questionnaires, vendor risk reviews, SOC 2, PCI DSS and GLBA requirements, data handling questions, NDAs and MSAs. Prepare, present and close engagements on time and material, fixed bid and dedicated team models. Include a support, maintenance or extension plan with every project. Keep pipeline, next steps and forecasts current in HubSpot CRM. Grow existing accounts through new scope, new teams and referrals. Share market feedback on objections, lost deals and messaging that works. Must Have Skills Communication, Presentation and Demo Excellent spoken and written English, with a clear and confident style suited to US founders, CTOs and CIOs. Professional presence in meetings with senior technical and business leaders. Candidates will give a live presentation during the interview. Ability to run a solution walkthrough, architecture discussion or product demo without needing an engineer on the first call. Ability to contribute to account strategy, solution approach and commercial planning. Ability to answer detailed technical questions from a CTO or CIO with confidence. Ability to engage technical buyers (CTO, CIO, VP Engineering) and business buyers (Founder, COO, Head of Product) in the same meeting. Availability to work with a large overlap with US business hours, including evening calls. Financial Services Knowledge 3+ years of selling technology services or solutions to Financial Services companies in the US. Working knowledge of at least two areas: fintech and payments, lending and credit, banking and core systems, insurance and insurtech, wealth management and capital markets. Familiarity with the compliance and security terms common in Financial Services buying: SOC 2, PCI DSS, GLBA, KYC and AML, SOX, encryption and data residency. Experience handling security reviews and procurement steps as part of the sales cycle while keeping the deal moving. Familiarity with Financial Services integrations such as payment rails, core banking or policy administration systems, KYC and identity providers, data aggregators, and reconciliation and reporting. Ability to explain risk, audit and regulatory points in simple business terms to founders who do not have a compliance team. Custom Development Sales Proven experience selling custom software development and engineering services, beyond product licences or staffing. Good understanding of time and material, fixed bid, dedicated team and hybrid models, and when to use each. Working knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, including discovery, estimation, sprints, releases, QA and support. Ability to discuss cloud, APIs and integrations, data platforms, web and mobile apps, and AI features at a business level. Ability to prepare clear proposals and statements of work covering scope, assumptions, exclusions and commercial terms. Preference for a paid discovery phase before committing to a build estimate. Outbound and ICP Knowledge Strong ICP knowledge, with the ability to define who to target, who to avoid, and why. Prior experience building or working a Financial Services ICP, including which segments buy custom development and which build in house. Proven success in building your own outbound pipeline. Hands on experience with Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Clay, Lusha or similar tools. Ability to write outbound messages that get replies from senior technical leaders, and to improve them based on results. Experience using buying signals such as funding rounds, leadership changes, product launches, technology migrations, new engineering roles and regulatory or seasonal deadlines. Consistent follow up across email, LinkedIn and phone, with a personal tone in every message. Closing and Ownership A track record of closing deals personally, from first contact to signed contract. Closed business in custom development or technology services, with deal size, sales cycle and buyer details you can walk us through. Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline, calendar and priorities. Strong negotiation on rates, scope and terms without relying on discounts. Accurate forecasting and up to date records in HubSpot CRM. Habit of adding a support, maintenance or extension plan to every deal. Experience with an IT services, engineering consulting or product engineering company. Exposure to regulated delivery environments and audit ready documentation. Experience with RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires. Business level understanding of AWS, Azure or GCP, and of cloud modernisation projects. Experience selling AI, automation or data engineering for regulated workflows. Participation in industry events such as Money20/20 or Fintech Meetup.
