This role leads business development efforts across IT asset disposition, electronics recycling, value recovery, data destruction, reverse logistics, and circular economy services. The ideal candidate brings strong industry knowledge, a proven record of closing complex B2B opportunities, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, compliance, logistics, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities · Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow revenue across ITAD and electronic recycling service lines. · Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with enterprise, mid-market, public sector, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and channel partner accounts. · Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including IT, procurement, sustainability, facilities, and compliance leaders. · Present solution offerings that address secure data destruction, environmental compliance, asset recovery, redeployment, and sustainability goals. · Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and discovery through proposal development, contract negotiation, close, and account expansion. · Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client requirements are translated into operationally sound and compliant service solutions. · Maintain accurate pipeline activity, account plans, opportunity updates, and revenue forecasts within the company CRM platform. · Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments related to IT lifecycle management, electronic recycling, and circular economy practices. · Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade associations, networking events, and customer meetings. · Support pricing strategy, contract structuring, and go-to-market initiatives that improve win rates and long-term customer value. · Contribute to strategic partnerships with OEMs, VARs, MSPs, logistics providers, and other ecosystem stakeholders. · Partner with leadership to establish territory plans, target accounts, performance goals, and growth priorities. Required Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sustainability, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. · Minimum of 5 years of business development, sales, or account management experience in ITAD, electronics recycling, reverse logistics, IT lifecycle services, or a closely related industry. · Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales, business development, or account management teams. · Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets and developing new business in a competitive B2B environment. · Strong understanding of IT asset disposition processes, electronics recycling programs, value recovery models, and secure chain-of-custody practices. · Working knowledge of data destruction and sanitization expectations, including industry-aligned practices such as NIST SP 800-88, as well as familiarity with environmental and operational compliance requirements. · Experience preparing proposals, leading presentations, negotiating contracts, and closing complex service agreements. · Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance reporting. · Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and business systems used for sales and account management. · Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze pipeline trends, sales performance, customer activity, and market information to support sound business decisions. · Excellent communication, relationship-building, and executive-level presentation skills. · Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. · Ability to travel as needed to support customer meetings, site visits, trade events, and business development activities. Preferred Qualifications · Experience selling solutions tied to R2, e-Stewards, NAID, ESG, sustainability reporting, or circular economy programs. · Established network of contacts across enterprise IT, OEMs, VARs, MSPs, public-sector organizations, healthcare organizations, data centers, and industrial markets. · Background working with regulated industries that require secure handling, reporting, and disposition of technology assets. · Experience with enterprise refresh and decommissioning projects. · Familiarity with OEMs, leasing companies, and data center migrations. · Experience working with Fortune 1000 organizations. · Familiarity with global expansion strategy, international market development, and the coordination required to support customers across regions. · Experience supporting multi-site, national, or complex service delivery engagements. · Familiarity with remarketing, redeployment, lease return, decommissioning, and logistics coordination. The Business Development Director is also expected to maintain consistent market visibility, contribute to long-term growth strategy, and represent the organization with professionalism and credibility in every customer and industry interaction. Work Environment and Travel This position operates in a professional business environment and may be based remotely, in an office, or in a hybrid setting depending on business needs. Regular travel may be required for prospect meetings, customer site visits, industry events, and internal planning sessions.
