Orr Development has a diverse set of both residential and commercial properties located primarily in the City of Vancouver. With our head office located centrally your day will start in beautiful Kitsilano and from there you will coordinate with the team and head out to tackle the day ahead. As a Building Service Technician each day brings new learning opportunities and possibilities for growth, no two days look alike. This role is vital in ensuring that buildings operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be mechanicaly inclined with some experience in facilities maintenance and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. You will work collaboratively with the Property Management team, contractors, fellow service technicians and other staff to ensure all properties are maintained in an "A" class manner. Duties - Assist property managers in coordinating suite turnovers - General building maintenance including drywall, general indoor & outdoor painting and basic plumbing, electrical and capentry etc - Maintain and complete work orders efficiently as prepared by the Property Manager & assigned by the foreman - Maintain a set of building master keys and arrange trade/contractor access to buildings - Maintain and take care of basic tools provided - Support property management with project-based responsibilities including capital expenditures, tenant improvements and future maintenance projects - Coordinate with trades and contractors to perform recurring safety tests Qualifications - Able to work a regular Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm work week and as needed for after hours emergencies at overtime rates - Class 5 drivers license - 1-3 years experience in facilities maintenance within residential or commercial settings - Basic skills and knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry - Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook) - Good communication skills for interaction with tenants, co-workers, Property managers and Resident Managers - Must provide excellent customer service to tenants - Work well in a team atmosphere and have a positive professional attitude If this sounds like you, please get in touch!
